Competition Pull Sept 24 Michigan City, MS

2 weeks, and 30+minutes.....

The Springfield Missouri event kicks off DHRA "Diesel Power" Sled Pulling Series in grand style, as part of the Special Events 4x4 Jamboree.

It is the first of the 8 pull points series.

4/30 qualifications, 5/1 finals. All 3 classes will qualify.

We will be lining up by 11:00 am, pulling by 12:00 noon, so ALL CLASSES, need to be there early Saturday morning for tech/weigh in, before the pull starts.

DHRA Pullers will use Gate #7 on Smith Road.

This is on the backside of the fairgrounds. It is across from the High school parking lot. This will be the only point of entry for the pullers. You will get your credentials at that point.

Don't come late and get stuck in line behind a bunch of gassers.

Ozark Empire Fairgrounds is 3001 N. Grant Street, Springfield, MO 65803. Located off I-44 exit 77.

NO Pets. Grill cooking is ok, no open fires on the ground.

Of course not-but your truck does.

Nice thing about the DHRA points series, is, if you HAVE to work, or you are getting married, or your wife NEEDS you there to have a baby(?) you can send your truck, and a designated driver, and still get points.

Are you honestly going to make the mod guys be there all day saturday, just for tech? i know there arent more than ten Mod trucks running? It isn't a problem with me being there, it's my brother in school and my mom that has a "regular" job that would have to take off two days to go with me. I don't see why we would "have" to be there all day saturday or have to make an extra qualifying pass if there allready aren't enough true Mod trucks to fill the class?

re.

I hope you are not refering to me about the pregnant wife, cause the kid aint due till the Monday and the pull is on Saturday and Sunday. I got plenty of time to get home. If not she can just cross her legs till I get home. Oh yea if the mod. guys don't have to qualify then I don't want to either. Because we will prolly only have about twenty or so trucks.

Is anybody more worried about spending a fortune just to get there weather they qualifiy or not?? Do you think there will be any motel rooms left out there for us last minute people? If we go at the last second.

Craig

Chris,

You probably have the baddest Ford in the country, which makes you an instant fan favorite, before you even hook, and you only want to pull once after driving all that way?

This is a points series, qualifying is worth points, and you have to qualify, that is the way it is set up.

Craig,

Hotel rooms will not be a problem, Springfield is plenty big.

Probably a question no one can answer because it is the first event of the year but, Do you have any approximate idea on the number of trucks that may show up for the event? I am wanting to get to at least one pull this summer and this may be the closest one. Kind of short notice but my roomates and I can probably swing it. Plus my roomate is big on Jeeps so we can drop him off at the show while we watch the pull.

Thanks for any info.

No idea, but there will be enough to make it a good show, well worth going to.

One of the best things to watch, will be a newbie crowd, that has never seen real Diesel Power.

This is really a must attend event.

For anyone that gets into town on Friday and wants some entertainment the dragstrip at Rogersville is open on Friday nights for test and tune. $10. 00 for as many runs as you like. There are a few of us planning on heading out there to play.

Rain Date?

I looked at the weather report and see that it is suposed to rain part/all of the weekend, what is the plan for a rain out/ part of the qual or finals getting rained out? What about points for showing up? I would hate to drive 11 hrs to get ****** on even just to get show up points.

Thanks

Craig

Didn't you read the rule book? ;) Of course there are show up points.

We will deal with the weather, and adjust the pull schedule as we have to.

If your trucks ready, I wouldn't sit at home because it may rain.

Good Idea

I guess I am off to go find me some Goodyear Aqua tread tires for the pulling truck... . Just in case

Craig

That's allright guys, It has been rumored that Gene told Eric that he would pay everyones fuel bills if we show up and get rained out :-laf

Hey Gene, are we gonna be able to park our trailers there overnight Saturday night if we qualify and get to pull on Sunday? In the Pro-Street are we allowed to have tow vehicles? There doesnt seem to be anything in the rules either way about it.

Jeremy

Yes, you can leave your trucks there overnight.

Only mods are allowed to use tow vehicles to get their trucks to the sled. Its under pulling procedures, self staging.

On a side note, to the Mod pullers, your tow vehicles at the Jamboree, are only allowed to to be used for that, no joy riding.

And you guys are worried about rain?

I checked with Special Events, the show is rain or shine.

So it is up to the sled operator, we will pull in the rain until he decides it is unsafe.

Everybody still have their windshield wipers installed?
