I plan on installing a 4" diamond eye straight exhaust on my truck. Wondering who all has the exhaust on their truck and what they think since it seems to be the most popular exhaust for these trucks. Also who has them for a reasonable price? Thanks,
Greg

I have that system on my 2003 now for about 6-7 years now and the only issue I had was a clamp that has a pin on it for supporting the tailpipe section broke this last summer. the pipe stayed up and i would not have noticed it, but was under it checking rear diff. oil level. I think it was worth the money ( note the pipes do not stay shiny)

I installed 4" Diamond Eye systems on both trucks. I like them. I remember the 92 being a bit of a puzzle getting the downpipe to fit just right with clearance alongside the Getrag. Required cutting a couple of pieces to the correct length. I purchased them several years ago, so can't help you there.

My son had a diamond eye on his 2nd gen and it sounded really good. Haven't heard on a first gen though. Probably would sound better!

I bought Diamond eye 4 inch because it was the only 4 inch turbo back I could find for a 2wd 1st Gen. It is not quiet, but it's fine with me.

This is the exhaust I have on my 91 W350 it sounds great at an idle and under a good load it performs and sounds beautiful I highly recomend it and especially for the price.

Just got a complete system from The Hungry Diesel 280 shipped with Muffler . And showed up in 2 day's .Will be Putting it on tomorrow so I will report back on sound .truck we are putting it on is a single cab 5sp 4x4 with 88,000 miles on it .

My Diamond Eye aluminized system is due for replacement after 3 winters. The tail pipe assembly has several small pinholes in it. Areas of heavy scale everywhere. Given my environment (Rust belt, high humidity year round) I was planning on buying stainless but came across this on Craigslist. Brand new for roughly 1/3 less.
My next system will definitely be stainless.

If you have decent skill with a welder I found that with a little work the factory 4" exhaust off a 3rd gen works real nice

I don't have a 1st Gen, but I did have a DE exhaust on my former 3rd Gen. Fitment on pipes and hangers for brackets was great. However paying for the stainless steel pipe was worthless. It rusted within a yea and looked awful. I can't remember why now, but I ended up replacing the center section with 4" aluminized pipe. That aluminized section looked better after 100k miles than 1 year with stainless. I would save some cash and buy aluminized instead.

As far as durability, all of my trucks have what appears to be original OEM stuff with no problems. Of course the climate in NE GA is a little easier on exhaust than the rust belt.
