somebody tell me just what the hell happened here. at a xmas party tonight an a friend gives me the old do a burnout, so a couple of beers an i am thinkin what the hell why not! so i do a burnout (a real nasty one) an the truck shut off :-{} . tried starting it a dozen times an she acted like she was out of fuel, so we hit it w/ a nice shot of ether an she fired up. scared the sh** out of me . had to call the wife out :{ to bring me the ether. any way i made it home! what happened why did the truck shut off????????????????

One of my frieds trucks did that to us once after bieng hard on the throttle. It had a Blue Chip HOT FMS, Some early Don M showerhead injectors also. He hammered down and when he let off it died. We cracked a few fuel lines and it fired right back up then and ran fine for a long time after that.

I think I read a post about a guy having this problem after a hard lap around the block and someone called it "lifting". I think they said it's when you let off too quickly, sometimes the injection pump can't match the sudden decrease or increase of fuel delivery and will die out or lose prime. I don't know if that's what your's did but it sound's similar to what I read a while back.

i know ether is bad ,but it was a last resort after cranking away for 10 min or so nothin was happening so i gave it a shot an is came to life.

Did you crack any fuel lines and try and bleed them?

Let's see, beer, ether, and massive cummins power, you are an accident waiting to happen.

basically you air locked it--as stated earlier if you're hammering the go pedal and lift suddenly the truck loses prime---just crack #3 and #4 injector until you get fuel and then tighten them back up and start it up---sometimes you need to crack #5 also---chris
