Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Did you know that Pacbrake has a manually operated brake available for my 2002?

That's right! Oh, you knew about that. . . well it's news to me.

What would you do. Go totally manual or go with the ECM hookup with the 1. 5 second delay? Manual sounds really good to me! Let it operate when YOU want to operate.

I have a 3rd gen brake that is hooked up to a pedal switch & on/off switch mounted on the shifter. It engages immediately & I love the fact that it is that fast incase I need quick braking. If its wired through the ecm... . you have a 3 second delay..... not good when someone pulls out in front of you hauling 15k.

Did you get the Pacbrake switch or the Geno's garage switch? Will the Pacbrake switch leave wires hanging?

I bought the shifter mounted jacobs switch from this guy..... [James 208-512-1951] He should have more... . think it was $40 & looks great & has a Cummins logo on the side. He may even have the brake. I have another friend who is selling a Pac Brake for $520 if you are interested Pm me & I'll hook you up.

Yep... . thats the one. It looks great in my truck... . just run the wire down through the boot & it looks like a clean install. They are push/pull switch & have a red light that lights up when the brake is on.

I am looking at installing a PacBrake PRXB 4 inch remote. After installing the twins I sadly said good bye to my Banks Brake.

I have that same "Cummins Stalk Switch" installed on my shifter that I used with my Banks Brake. FWIW that switch works very well. I had never thought of using that switch in conjuction with the brake pedal switch.

Novel idea... . :eek:

It sounds good in theory, how does it work in practice? I typically only released my brake after I have stopped anyways.

How did you wire it up? Just the hot from the brake peddle switch to the brake soleniod in paralell with the stalk switch? Did you use any isolating diodes / relay?

Why do you need to eliminate your Banks Brake to enjoy a set of twins?

The Banks is a turbo mount style. These sets of twins (Thanks Olee) are close to my configuration. I really looked at building the brake into my 3 inch hot pipe. It was possible, but the space there under the cowl is really tight. In the end, I opted to go with a 4 inch remote which I have not installed yet.

Just bought new living room furniture and my wallet still has the ice pack on it... . :{
