Twins Idea

New hoses from Mr. Bob

In the new issue of Off-Road magazine in the Movin' On Up performance parts section (Page 72), they show that Diesel Dynamics is making a dual ball bearing version of their Jammer turbo. Anybody have one of these? I don't see anything on their website about. In the same magazine there is a good article about bombing a '99 24 Valve dually with Diesel Dynamics parts. In addition thre is an article about bombing a Duramax done by Clint Cannon at ATS Diesel Performance. They mention using their Aurora 5000 turbocharger on the Duramax. Looks like a big turbo, but again no mention of it on their website. Anybody purchased one of these? There is also a good article on the new Hemi Power Wagon. -Glen

I've heard that DD was coming out with a new turbo that was supposed to handle more power than their current model, but that was months ago and I haven't heard anything since. I would like to know if that have something ready to come out. I'm ready to start BOMBing.

As for the Aurora turbo from ATS. I know nothing about it, but I have seen it on their website, so maybe you missed it.

KLocklier from DD was hinting about the ball-bearing turbo not too long ago, haven't seen anything since!

C'mon Keith!

The pre-production prototype was on display at SEMA in the Edge booth. We were supposed to get the first production test unit on Monday, but the exhaust flange was cast wrong, so that sets us back another week. If all goes well, they will be available sometime in January.

As far as what it does... spoolup of our current Jammer offering, but airflow of an H2e with turbine housings available to support 400-700hp.

That's all I have for now.

i dont know how many of these $$$$ it will be but probably to many for me. I will probably have to settle for a little old time lag when go to purchase my turbo. But for those will big funds i am happy DD is coming out with new kick ***** stuff. Thanks for your hard work Kieth.

... . meaning "that's all I'm willing to say right now"

HEHE-- this should be a good one.

As for pricing, we are planning to keep the 3G "kit" under $2k with all the stuff (the Jammer kit for the 3G's is $1650 now for comparison). For the older trucks (94-02) that just need a downpipe with it, I'm guessing that it will probably sell in the $1500-$1700 range with the downpipe.

Ballpark figures for now. Won't know until they drop them off. :)

Jake, aka Drag Diesel, is running an Aurora 5000 on his 12 valve Cummins auto reg cab. I took a ride in it last Saturday. I am not sure what engine it performs best on but it runs great for a large single on a BOMBed 12 valve. He is around 540 at the rears I think, and he told me you need about 450 hp before the turbo becomes effective. Anything less and its too laggy. He could punch the throttle to 2000 rpms in neutral and it would jump to 5 or 6 psi, 3000 rpm and 10 psi.

I want one! :)

Edit: I think Jake either works at ATS or is just there all the time, I'm not sure! But he would know more about it, maybe he will respond.

Does Diesel Dynamics have an updated site somewhere? The only site I found has a link for a 2001 catalog.

Thanks,

Ronco

DD's website is getting long in the tooth compared to everyone else's, but they do have the HP configurator :)

No real plans to update it either... just add the new stuff as it comes along. The 2001 catalog is the last one we printed, which is why that is available on the website.

Briman, this turbo will be offered as a bolt-on kit to the 3G trucks, as is our current Jammer offering.

Ronco, you won't see anything about the turbo on our website until it's available for sale.

Kieth,

1. what kind of oil would you recommend running with a ball bearing turbo.

2. What do they sound like at idle and spooling up. (anything close to the new VVT turbos straight piped)

3. if you want a beta tester for a 12v holla :)

4. With this ball bearing turbo and these fueling mods 180hp pump, 191dv's, 0 plate, 370's, 4K spring, afc forward and wheel backed out what kind of hp could i make? 450?
