Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Difference between 2wd and 4wd transmission

I have an auto (47rh) from a 2wd truck that I want to connect to a 241 transfer case. Can anyone tell me exactly what is different between the two that will need to be changed, and possibly offer some suggestions on where to acquire these items.

The difference is in the tail shaft and housing. the 2WD had a long tail shaft and housing that accepts the drive shaft yoke. The 4WD trany is minus the tail shaft and bolts straight to the transfer case.

So can I just remove the tail housing and bolt on the transfer case? No extra parts needed?

The OD unit is different. you need a 4wd OD unit, remove your 2wd unit,and install the 4wd OD unit,then your t case.
