Is the width of a c&c front and rear dually axle any different than pickup dually axles? I take it a C&C wheelbase and frame are different so a pickup bed can't be used? Thanks-Nick
I don't know about the frame and wheelbase being different. The pickup dual axle is the widest. The C&C axle is 6 inches shorter (3 inches on either side) and a SRW axle is 6 inches shorter than the C&C... . I think.
The front axle is the same on a C&C and dually. The rear axles are different widths like Tugger stated. He is close on the widths also.
The C&C normaly runs a frame that is straight. The duallys run a frame that has a kickup over the rear axle.
I just looked in my 93 saleman book. Dually was a 131" WB. The C&C was listed as a 135" WB. A SRW C&C was a 131" WB. The 135" is the longest WB base shown in a 4X4. In 4x2 you could go to a 159" WB.
I have a 1989 Advanced Product Info Binder (Dealer Sales Info) and it is the same as Philip stated. I would guess 1989 to 1993 axles would work, gearing would be different on the early years of course.
My 90 has a frame that is straight to the axle, then kicks up over it I also have a ~159" WB, give or take an inch.
Alxe widths are different. I had an opportunity to buy a D71 3. 07 for $225 last spring, but it was from a SRW, not a dually of either sort. Should've bought it anyway.
