Hello all,
I finally got myself a floor jack, and have a question for the group.
Is it safe to position the jack under the rear differential? The manual does not show it as being a recommended lift point, but it would sure be easy to use the differential as a lift point and then put jack-stands under the axle tubes.
Thanks for any info.
Tim

Tim,I do it all the time. Just keep it off the edge of the cover so it doesn't get loosened up and leak.

Tim. I have always lifted the rear of my 3500 with a floor jack under the center section of the axle and then put jack stands under the axle. I have never had any trouble caused by doing this.

i don't know if you've looked closely, but if you 1) have a rear swaybar and 2) want to use jackstands, there really isn't any other option (at least not with the size of my jack and jackstands).
