Do you have to destroy the grab handle to install an A-Pillar 3 gauge mount?

Researching gauge mounts I'm leaning toward a tri-gauge A-Pillar. I thought the A-Pillar mounts available from Geno's or Diesel Manor were a replacement for the grab handle hardware but one of the posts I read somewhere made it sound like these gauge mounts are simply skins that require the OEM pillar hardware for support and that the grab handle has to be hacked off? I was hoping to simply remove the grab handle and bolt on the mount. I don't like to make changes I can't back out of at a later date.

So for those who've installed the three gauge A-pillar mount, did you have to cut off the grab handle and use the OEM pillar to support the mount?

Had to cut mine off to do the guage install, later I removed all the gauges for a digital set up. just bought another A-pillar, price wasn't bad.

That was the main reason I chose the BD X-monitor. Fits with the grab handle, easy to install and has worked perfectly for over six years.

I kept my grab handle and use one SPA DUAL gauge to give me readings on three parameters. I use the boost readout to read either boost or primary fuel pressure. I installed a small switch to toggle between both readings.

I have an 05 pickup and i bought a 3 guage set up a-pillar mount from diesel manor, just had to remove grab handle pillar assembly, just remove bolts, and then install guage pillar. did not destroy anything.

Same here.

When the first triple gauge a-pillar came out you had to cut the grab handle and use it as a skin. But now it replaces the grab handle.

I cut the grab handle off of mine just to give it a little more strength. You can replace it and keep the handle to put back on if you sell or go with a different mounting option.

I put a new cluster in after the first on cracked and newer one warped without anything underneath it so I put it back in. I had screws in the first one but haven't put them back in this one.

Has anyone else had the triple gauge pillar warp from sitting in the sun?

I used the single gauge pillar mount with handle from Genos. I really like the
triple dash top mount from Genos - it's right in your driving line of sight. The pillar
set up is a Mopar part and a direct replacement.
