Looking for opinions on satelite radios. Do they sound good? How the reception? Just don't know if they are worth the 10 bucks a month for subscription.

I love my Alpine XM. reception is fantastic in my area, audio quality is outstanding. Wouldn't be without it.

Do some research on the various sat radio websites for their programming. There are LOTS of channels to choose from but if there is something specific you like to listen to, you might want to look closely. Example... I like christian music(gospel actually) and talk shows. XM has 4 christian stations but none of them are the types I like. But there are so many other genres to choose from that I always find something I like. I haven't listened to an FM station since I did the install in April.

As always... YMMV.

Howard Stern

Give Sirius a call,Maybe he is on E! Entertainment chnl. Give them a call at this# 888-539-7474 it is the activate # but they should have the Info# for you! GWD

Yes, best thing I ever did. Don't know how people can say they are REAL music lovers if they do not have satalite radio. I have had XM for 11 months now. You can't buy 1 new cd a month for $10, and the hardware is not that expensive.

I had XM in previous truck and it had great digital sound quality and

channel selection. When I bought the dodge 2500 I went with Sirius satellite

because I wanted to keep the factory

satellite ready c. d. changer.

Sirius has proven to be equally as

impressive as Xm if not better (programming).

Where are you guys mounting the antenna? I've got a cap on my truck bed and am looking for an alternative to mounting on the cab.

Umm, I believe E! is on XM... Was just listening to it today... Not sure if it is on Sirius... I have 2 XM's... . Cant get enough of it!! Listen to it all night at the house, on the way to work, in the semi truck at work, on the way home, and at home again! AND ITS CHEAPER THAN SIRIUS!!!!!

Sirius Radio

Yes my Sirius radio has the E!Enterainment radio channel,It is

not my choice to listen to,But it is there for all to listen to who want! GWD

Satalite Radio

I have the Sirius Sat and I never use the FM or AM anymore. It will spoil you and I mean forever.

2003 2500 Larmie with every acc that you can order on one with xtras added on. Love this truck.

I love my XM

I have had my XM for almost 2 years. I love it, hardly ever listen to cds anymore and NEVER listen to regular radio.

XM is cheaper per month

Sirius is more expensive but they have more "commercial free" channels.

XM's commercials are maybe one every five or six songs, on the stations that have them. Check out the websites, compare and then make your decision.

XM uses two geostationary satellites (Rock and Roll) as well as terrestrial repeaters and such to broadcast.

Sirius uses three geo-synchronous satellites (figure eight above the US). Not sure if they use ground based repeaters/antennas or not though.

My XM works GREAT, I had it in the midwest (MO and KS, and drove from there to Vegas, only loss was deep in mountain passes, or some underpasses, but only for a split second. I have lost signal in underground parking garages as well. Between CA and Vegas there are two spots where I lose signal for a brief second.

Just my 10 cents!

I am a X-Radio using the Delphi head unit. I drive truck for a living and average about 5,000 miles a week(this not counting my personal vechicle)and would not be caught without it. The reception is wonderfull and it alot nicer not to have to seek stations all the way across our great country all the time.

My partner was a Sirius subscriber(in his new car) and he found he liked the X-M deal much better. I asked him about Stern and even he said no Stern on satelitte. Stern has himself denounced the chance of possibilities of even going to either Satelitte company.

BUBBA ROCKS !!!!!! Andy

I,ve gone with Sirius in order to maintain

the factory sat. ready c. d. changer/radio.

Reception has been nearly flawless even

when driving through timbered areas

of northern Calif. I believe the Sirius satellites are at an altitude of 22,000 miles so projection to vehicle is rarely obscured. The only channel that I miss

from XM's lineup is the adult comedy

channel.
