Looking for a book

Hope Navistar gets this one right!

Is the factory warranty on the truck and engine null and void on these trucks if there are used for commercial use? A friend of mine works for a concrete company and they have a few in their fleet. He was telling me, that if you go buy a new truck, license and register it in your business name, the warrenty on the truck is null and void, even on the engine. Anyone else ever run into this? Sounds like someone is feeding someone some crap.

Thanks, Jim

The warranty is not voided because of commercial use of the truck. Dodge will even give you an additional $350 discount if you use it for business.

We use our trucks in snowplowing and residential roofing businesses. None of our warrantied repairs were denied.

From the warranty manual (pg 9) available from the Dodge website:

H. Some Commercial Vehicles Are Excluded

Vehicles used as a police vehicle, taxi, limousine,

postal delivery vehicle, ambulance or rental vehicle

are not covered by the 7 Year/70,000 Mile

Powertrain Limited Warranty.
