Need feedback on Performance Automotive and Transmission Center

I have seen pictures of a Dodge. . I think its a Dart around here somewhere. Its tan and its set up for drag racing. From what I remember the owner has had the car for a very long time...

Anybody??????

Thanks

Rick

Rick. .

Alot of the drag race shots I have seen on here and I am not sure of what brown colored Dart you mean. Its not brown but is this the one you might have seen shown below??. What do you want the picture for and do you want it wheels up or sitting level?. Maybe I can help... ... ..... Andy

We are going after a 69 Dart this weekend for my son. Its his first car and I wanted to show what they can look like. .

The car will be used as a daily driver but also he wants some get up and go. .

Thanks

Rick

Bill,

My daughter learned to drive and took her driving test in her mom's 2k 4x4 Cummins power'd truck that runs. . 14's. Have had no issues with tickets or hot rodding the truck.

You are correct as far as hp and first car... but my first car was a 67 SS 396 4 speed. Didnt want to break it because I didnt know how to fix it and didnt have the money either.

I was bless'd with a couple of good kids. . And they work hard for their toys like their dad did and still does. .

Then the above Dart would do to show him what they look like. Just make sure to explain to him he won't get the cool looking carbon-fiber hood and front fenders nor would his be equipped with the 900+ HP Potent Packyderm like is under the hood of this one,LOL.

Here is a shot of a 68 Dart that runs in the NHRA Superstock class SS/GA,Its equipped with a 383 and a automatic. Although its a drag car, its one of the finest examples of a 68 Dart I have seen in a long time. The attention to detail on this car is incredible and if you ever see it you will just stand and gawk at it like I did... ... ... ... . Andy

BTW Bill...

I know you probably didn't get to go to Englishtown last weekend for the big National Event there(neither did I darn it,LOL). The guy who won Superstock Eliminator there also runs out of the same shop as my Buddies above Hemi A car. He runs a SS/GT(front wheel drive conversion) Dodge Daytona with a small block in it. It was the first National Event win for any of the guys who are sponsored by JB. They have had alot of class wins but no national event wins, now they have a "Wally". Congrats go out to Denny and the whole Baughman Auto Parts crew on a job well done.

That dart used to be mine!It belongs to Darren and Dave Smith of Pro Trans the guys that do my trans. . Darren had his 66 Coronet at the track tonight and it runs 11. 13 on the motor! Not to bad for a 3800# car at 2200ft. That Dart used to be maroon,Far cry from what is now. If you guys get a chance to see it up close take a look and see how many little tricks you can find!

Hey Hammer,

The 383 Dart looks good. It must be pretty strong to lift the front almost like the Hemi Darts.

That's cool your friends garage won a national event. Does it pay decent to win a National event? He must get allot of contingency money?

Bill. .

$1800 to win a national event in Superstock. The main portion of the extra money comes from all the sponsors decals on the car which can be quite substantial(if they all pay in a timely fashion it should net him over 15k for the win). However, when you have a brain fart and forget a few as he did, well, you know what happens. Told me last week that it will not happen again,LOL. I know the car was loaded with all decals for Lebanon Valley's points meet, but a really crappy right lane did everyone in during the first round of eliminations, him included. It was a shame that NHRA tolerated crap like that from the management of that track. Not ONE win in either Stock or Superstock came out of the right lane during the first round as most everyone blew the tires off and spun. Heck the Lebanon Valley Management couldn't even secure the NHRA pits while they were running their modified program and a few golfcarts ended up missing as did some generators and other assorted things. The Valley's management team claims they told everyone they announced during the day and right before they finished they wouldn't be locking up and the racers had to make sure everything was secure. I guess time will tell if they loose their race next year after that crap happened.

Anyway, the driver of the Daytona and I go waaaayyyy back to years gone by. We both grew up together and have known each other since we were kids. He has had some fast rides over the years and some good running small blocks. It was nice to see him finally cash in on something he had worked so hard to get... ... ... Andy
