About a year ago i was ready to file a lawsuit, became discouraged but now i might be interested in trying again. I went with another TDR member and helped testify in a lawsuit in small claims court where he got half his money towards a paint job. Judge was a **** and said it is out of warranty. I talked to the dodge rep and he said sorry your 96 is too old even for a partial settlement. Went to a local dodge dealer and they told me to pretty much go * myself..... I want to take them to court over this. I plan on sending a letter soon to dodge and if i dont get anything back, i'll just file the suit.

What's the reasoning that your entitled to anything? Not trying to start anything - just curious...

Some of the trucks were painted with faulty paint and some were painted without primer(like mine).

If you have followed this members posting you wouldn't have to ask :-laf :-laf

Sure lets see if I buy a used beat up truck, maybe 8 years old or so Chrysler owes me a paint job... ... ... . yea thats it :-laf :-laf

If you bought a new truck and took good care of it with-in a reasonable amount of time had an actual paint failure and were respectful Chrysler would help with the cost. No used cars :-laf Origional owners that may buy another are taken care of :D

Bought my 95 new. When it was about 4 years old the red paint started to bubble on the hood and all the top surfaces (top, top of fenders etc. ). At that time we were learning that some Dodge warrenty reps were approving full repaints due to a problem with the factory primer.

My rep. would only agree to pay 1/2 half the $2,400 estimate from their body shop to repaint.

My position was that I had already paid for one paint job, and should not have to pay even half for another. I also had concerns about the repaint a few years down the road since I've seen many repaints with delaminated clear after 10 years or so.

Never did get the truck painted, no sheeting of paint yet, just a textured finish on all flat surfaces, still looks good from 20feet. Up close, looks like a bad paint job.

At that time and even a few years later, several folks went to small claims court and got free repaints. We've had several threads about it back a few years ago.

No advise, just sharing.

Good luck, RR
