What noise you getting?

it cums and goes . if I let fuel out of the filter with the water drain valve on the filter canister it runs quiet for a day or so then back to that that loud noise it's louder than the truck at times. I thank air is geting in the pump gears some how

but if I change the fuel filter it runs fine for a time

we love the FASS II PUMP we had it installed at cumminS diesel in west palm beach fl but we ordered it from daves diesel

Is it a squealing noise? If it is, read here.....



This sounds like what you are seeing because it would come and go as described.....



You can also try a 5 Gallon bucket test and see if that helps or not. Just try pulling fuel form a 5 gallon bucket or something similar and see if the noise goes away or not. This would eliminate the tank from being the cause of the noise.

Grinding is not normal... . BUT a grinding noise that comes and goes... . sounds like cavitation. If it was a bearing, it would be very noticable and all the time. Try the 5 gallon test and see if that helps. If it doesnt, contact your dealer and have them get intouch with me for some options. Give them you SN when you talk to them.

my wife drives the truck to work

and this is our only car

we plan on traveling with a camper

We ask all questions be run through our selling dealers. They are equiped to handle issues like this. AND if they cant answer the question, the dealer can call me and i will get involved.

That spring is included in all our mounting packages. It is a 45 PSI spring. It is intended for our 120 GPH and 200 GPH kits. You can use it with our 95 GPH kits but not the 150 GPH. If you do not need 45 PSI, you can just toss it.

I might suggest haveing one of my dealer listen to your truck to see what is going on. Sometimes these noise issues are best heard by a human ear than tring to describe the issue over the phone or net. I have a dealer somewhat close to you in Tamarac, FL.

To be honest, we dont see much cavitation issues with the HPFP pumps. Only if they are sucking air.

First, let me say I love my FASS II... . that being said... .



... . although one can garner quite a bit of good info reading a 68-post-long thread on troubleshooting a product, sometimes it is just SOOOOO nice to have a human being on the other end of the phone to bounce a few things around with.

Same way a pic is worth a thousand words, a chat can sometimes be worth a thousand posts.

I couldn't get a phone number during my install and it was only thanks to another TDR member (I forget who) that had recently installed a FASS II who PM'd me with his phone number and I cleared up a hundred questions in a 2-min call.

You can take that QD-1001 fitting out of the line and just clamp the hose to the draw fitting on the tank. We add that fitting for convenience of install. It works 98-99% of the time, but if someone installs it with dirt on the fitting or didn't get it snapped all the way on (OR as many fittings we run, one or two are bound to be defective), it will suck air. I have also had people leave the blue clip on the line and try to install the QD-1001..... it wont work!

I have a certain protocol i am under here at the shop. We ask the customer to contact the dealer if immediate assistance is needed. If the dealer needs help... he calls me. If i need to, i do call the customer directly.



Any issue i handle on these forums i like to keep public. My goal is to show the issue, the discussion, and the resolution to an issue or question. My point on this is to help someone that might be searching the forums down the road with the same problem. If they find one of my troubleshooting threads, they have all the info needed to take care of the problem without a single phone call made.
