Was out on I -75 tonight , that sportlight and wiring upgrade is incredible. If anyone is wondering if it is worth the trouble ,do it . I waited a year and sure regret it .

sport light upgrade

Did you use the aftermarket light assemblies or pony up for OE? IF you used replicas, how is the fit and finish?

Thanks

James

James... got mine from www.autobodypartswholesale.com

these are aftermarket made to OEM specs. i actually think that they are better that some of the OEM lights that i have seen.

I too wonder why i waited soooooo long. also the lights from the above concern were about half of what the stealer quoted me. Tim

very simply Wade.....

the light pattern on the sport headlights is MUCH better than that of the SLT lights. its wider and fuller. also the wiring for the stock lights is done with like 18 ga wire... this means that the lights aren't putting out their potential for brightness. following RENECKDR's directions, you re-wire with 10 and 12 ga wire so that closer to the full 12 volts is getting to the lights.

feels like i went from candles to REAL headlights.

anybody willing to share how to wire the sport head lights

w/brite box or with relaysi already have the lights now need to know how to dothe job

tks

Where are you mounting the relays to control the second set of bulbs? Got any pctures? Are you using the stock headlight switch to trigger the relay(s) or are you running a separate switch?

Please email the wiring schematic - -- email address removed --

Also, did you get just the headlamp, without the corner lamp, sport version. Which part numbers did you order so I'm not so confused this morning.

Alan--i don't remember the numbers but YES get the corner lamps.

they have an all together different appearance as well as a different reflector pattern.

use the link above.....

the whole headlight assembly comes complete with the corner lights and bulbs,$119 each. . Redneck has some great instructions, but they need to e-mailed direct. I mounted the two relays under the horizontal piece by the drivers hood hinge . The wires flowed well and looked factory. I ran 10 ga red and blue

to the lights ,and used the old sockets (pulling the pins and soldering 6" , 12 ga pigtails on them and reinserting them in the sockets and siliconing them. Running the ground wires to the battery grounds. I used some of the round tube screw connectors and put the 2- 12 ga wires in one side and the 10 ga from the relays in the other end. I will get some pictures.

I did not go with the premade harness because I knew

from others that you could run all four bulbs on low beam at once, and not bother people , the 10 ga wire makes for a better job in this application. You want to make sure the wiring

can handle the amperage, and when you go to high beam and

go through the brite box mode there are 8 filaments pulling power.
