tired of the dpf but i live in a county tht checks for it. how does it work to hollow out the dpf? will performance/mpg improve or stay the same? and does it throw codes? or is there a better way?

Please fill out your signature, by stating what year truck,auto-manual and engine size such as an HO 6. 7L.

Also what state do you live in this will make a difference as how you go about the mods. Some states do a visible inspection and snap test others plug into the OBDII port to check for emission compliance.

Once this information is provided suggestions can be made as to how to help you.

When gutting the dpf are you guys running a smarty or something to turn off the regens or just poking a nice large hole through it and leaving everything else as is?

Well, it's obviously a 6. 7 if it has a DPF...

You can cut it out, hollow it, and run a straight pipe through and weld it back up. That's been done before. For the regen and sensors, I'd have to recommend either a Smarty Jr or H&S Black/MiniMax. They will allow for code-free DPF and EGR delete (you should block off the EGR also)

Don't do something stupid. Just buy a turbo-back exhaust, EGR delete (if needed, depending on year), and get a programmer. Whenever you need to do emissions testing, put the stock crap back on.

If you find yourself down at your local Dodge dealer to buy a new DPF/cat, plan on dropping $5-7k for it.
