dpf suggestions

I want to do the delete on my 11 2500. I'm just sick of the fuel wasted on this truck everyday with the regens its almost criminal. Can anyone suggest a good vendor and product to go with. Basically I want reliability and longevity, I don't care about racing the guy next to me at a light, I just want the poor thing to breathe.

Yep I was checking that out. Did you install yours yourself? Did you go from turbo out on the exhaust? Or just used a dpf delete pipe? Muffler or no muffler?

did it myself. made delete pipe. kept muffler couldn't be happier. went with stock tune

Brian did you see a big difference after deleting? Does the hs tuner have good directions?

Any of the H&S stuff is good - I like the Black Maxx mounted on the drivers side pillar. Have messed with Edge Racing, Bully Dog with sensor kits and H&S runs better with less problems when minus the dpf.



Depending on location, smog testing and highway patrol - the easy solution is to use the delete pipe, keeps the stock muffler and it isn't as obvious that you messed with the truck. The delete pipe makes it easy to return to stock if you have to. The biggest thing I have noticed is getting rid of the dpf makes the biggest mileage gain. I have installed aftermarket cats on some trucks & it doesn't seem to change much on mileage or egt's.

How much of an mpg gain?? My 2011 with 10,000 miles averages right at 16 mpg.....

I have heard guys claim upwards of 4-8 mpg, and they all claim to hand calculate the mileage. I have also run into alot of guys that think the overhead computer that spits out mileage numbers is always right on.

i have though about the smarty jr delet box ? how is it, plus the delet pipe and a different muffler. is it necessary to do from the turbo back ? will it chang the fuel milage much. i get 10 to 11 loaded or empty. 2008 mega cab w/8' bed auto, 4:10

I did a DPF delete and have the smarty Jr. I just made a trip from Utah to Portland Oregon, and I hand calculated 20. 2 MPG coming up here. I'm happy with the results. I also installed ALL the amsoil Fluids, and I think that also helps the mileage.

I bought a H&S EGR and Cooler delete. 5 inch Pro Flow with deletes... turbo back. Smarty S-67 ME (Stock tune SW1) and Edge insight and i couldnt be happier. Easy install, took about 4 hours. 20. 1mpg hand calculated last week.

Yeah I just did the H&S mini max, EGR delete, MBRP 4" turbo back
Exhaust and an aFe intake and it's just been
awesome a totally different truck. Hand calc I'm getting
17 around town and 20 on the highway and I keep on stock.
