I know this has been beaten to bits, but they changed the neck so the caps from Geno’s won’t work. This is my temporary fix. A 2” ABS cap covers it so at least if DEF is spilled, it won’t go into fuel tank. I’ll be calling Geno,s but there are ribs now in the neck, so it won’t seal. If you look closely at the neck in the background you’ll see the blue cap not sealing from the rib, there are three ribs to prevent o ring from sealing.

So help me out here , I just bought a ‘18 2500 , are you saying the Genos caps ( both DEF AND Fuel) won’t fit ... sorry I didn’t read the whole thread yet

My first purchase in aftermarket add on’s was the two caps

So you are saying the plastic in the fuel compartment has changed and is the issue or have the fuel and DEF necks changed?

Talked to Geno’s, they said they will be taking pre orders for new designed cap, but only locking cap will be available. I didn’t want locking, but I’ll look to see what they will offer. Sno, I don’t want to order it, if it will not seal, but it may be different anyway, thanks for the link though.

Yes, the inner neck has vertical ribs that prevent the caps from Geno,s to fit, I’ll assume it’s new on the 19’s.

I bought the Geno's cap before I knew the neck had been changed. It fits, but is so snug I have to pry it loose with my pocket knife. I think a smaller profile o-ring would solve it. I spoke to Geno's, and they said they were working on it, but have not heard back.

Yep using older green cap bought from Geno's garage several years ago is not locking type, fit's down into diesel only, have to pull and twist to remove.

The Geno's locking works perfectly on my 18. It would seem to me that even the current Geno's cap I have without the O ring would keep 99% of any spills out of the fuel system on a 19.

The ones I just received work perfectly on my new ‘18
I had them for a couple days and didn’t want to install if they didn’t fit

DEF won’t enter the fuel tank unless the 2nd flapper of the fuel filler neck is depressed. It will simply run out on the ground.....

Maybe so, but I feel better with it there. Its insurance that no DEF will spill in. The wheel well has a splash gaurd, so I can't see the breather your talking about.
