Just thought I would let you all know I am not renewing my membership this year so I guess they will kick me off here soon. If anyone needs to contact me for any reason I will be over on the DTR site under the same user name. Just in case anyone cares. :-laf No problems here but just cutting expenses this year.

Hijack

I'll hijack to let everyone know I am doing the same. I toyed around with dropping the membership last year, but this year the .org site has started and taken me. It's been a long run and good times. Cutting costs and just too many other sites to log onto. You all still know how to find me;).

I too will probably be doing the same. My screen name on the other sites is Bookshelf. The 4 magazines you get here a year aren't worth the $35.

Leaving

I'm very sorry you are deciding to move along, but you have nothing but the very best of wishes from the staff of the Turbo Diesel Register. And if you find you miss us, please come on back.

I know the magazine has limited information on the older trucks, and I have to assume that has affected your decision.

If any of you are in a position to submit technical material on the older model trucks, contact me. We are ALWAYS looking for well written material of interest for the First Generation folks. PM or email me.

Best of luck.

I for one think this is a great site and for only $35 look at all the entertainment we get. I have saved far far more then the $35. 00 per year on good advice and I have made many lasting friends from Florida to Eastern Canada to Alaska and many places in between. Personally, I look forward to logging on every day. Thanks Turbo Diesel Register, george

notice how when two other websites were mentioned in this thread, it wasn't shut down and the people who posted them weren't given a warning and told to go sit in the corner?

try that on DTR and see if one of the baby-sitters doesn't have a hissy. All of the good members of DTR are on Comp these days

While obviously the TDR is out to turn a profit, IMHO, it's more important to them that they serve the needs of the membership even if that means the TDR allows the member to see a competitor's forum or site listed on this forum. I have saved far more $$ then all of the years of membership have cost me because of the TDR.

Log on just about everyday or time i get a chance too,TDR just paid for itself again---rear speed/ABS sensor went in the truck this week,a little search on the symptoms and order the new part---wonder what the dealer would have charged for that bit of info or diagnostic service????a heck of alot more than 35 bucks----Goodluck and hope to have you back someday---DW

I have no interest in whether most people come, go, or stay, but if cutting expenses is a reason, think about this: $35 a year comes out to $2. 92 a month. I know I spend more money than that on sodas, snacks, etc in the course of a month. Not having time to log on (guilty- I cant keep up with 2 1stGen forums, much less the others), or if your interests have changed, bought a different vehicle, etc, great.

Sorry you guys are leaving here, but will see you on the other sites. I like keeping up with stuff in the newer trucks, plus we get info MONTHS ahead of the rest of the automotive industry. My girlfriend's boss will tell me something "new" and I'll say, "Oh yeah, that was in the TDR a few months back. According to my sources, it isnt that way; here's how it really is... ... "

Staying informed and knowledgeable are never bad things.

Take off, for every one that goes, 10 more arrive... IMO :)
Well like I said it is not due to any problems here, even though sometimes you get people like this that just have to say negative things, I have learned over the years to ignore them and help everyone I can. I don't know or care how many come or go personally and I am sure you don't either. My decision is not based on the quality of the site as it is great and a very good source of information, I just need to cut some costs overall and this is jut one of many I have to let go. If I change my mind I may come back we will just have to see. Thanks TDR Admin for all you do for us.

See you guys... I hope to make it to a 1st gen gathering sometime. It would be nice to meet guys face to face.

Good luck guys... Bill, happy horsepower hunting.

PS, I agree with the Kudos to TDR Admin.
