new injectors

Hello to all

its back to the dealership today

Getting an oil change and talking to the service dept about the black smoke coming from the engine.

The new injectors are making way to much smoke . Very easy to smoke out any one close to me but I dont like to do that.

Will keep you updated on this.

injectors

Hello to All

The problem with the smoke is the injectors

my truck was built 11/03 the engine is a 305/555

the injectors they put in it are for a 325/600 engine the computer they use to pull the parts gave them the wrong part number.

They are not sure of why it happened but it did and now its sitting in my driveway and I have a rental truck 1/2 ton dodge crew cab gasser. #@$%!

I would like to thank DBraunig for taking the time to help me on this last night

I would have driven the truck to Bozeman on Saturday and I dont think it would do my engine any good. THANKS AGAIN DAVE.

Now on to the bigger question I put about 500 miles on the truck in the last week how much damage to the engine its over fueling bad black smoke, down on power.

My thought is to do an oil change send a sample to to see if any fuel is in the oil

Any other thoughts on this.

thanks for you time

With bigger injectors, the black smoke is caused by lack of enough air to match the new injectors output, i. e. if you left those injectors in, you would need a bigger turbo.

I do not think any real damage should have been caused by this, but an oil change and sample tested would be a good idea if something really was wrong, that could prove that they (dealer) were at fault.

Best of Luck CJ

CJ,

Thanks, I was reading it late, 0300 while I was at work at the PD during down time and missed the amount. Thanks for what you have done in his area, it helped me to start making the change to blended diesel in my tractors and maybe even my 08 megacab

Gasoline

I have heard the same but never have tried it can't find the time looking for old gas,its way to easy just to buy the new stuff when I by gas I get 110+ gallons and that lasts me about 5 weeks so it new all the time.

trucks

Hello to All

the trucks are all running fine. there are 8 city trucks and 1 car total that are running this fuel and 4 farm tractors.

we sold the 2005 dodge we just are not driving it as much as we used to and the fact that the truck would not run on 100 % blend fuel was an issue.

I am looking for either another older Dodge or a VW TDI diesel just dont want to spend a load of money.

the 04 is back to normal and it seems to be fine wating for the last oil test to come back the one right after the first injector change is back and it showed the iron level is up and they want to retest in 3000 miles or sooner.

I will update as soon as I get the test back.

1st batch of fuel

Hello CJ

Its been awhile and I want to tell you first that I finished my filter unit today and ran my first batch. I have some pics but couldn't figure out how to post them?

I filtered the 47+-gallon batch for 6 hours but as you know used two X100 filters in series so 6 hours should be equivalent to 12. And I used a larger pump/motor with a much higher output than the HF motors so I'm getting significantly more filtration passes on the fuel. The fuel came out tinted but absolutely crystal clear. It looks like pale iced tea.

I should not delay in saying thanks for your assistance and "at a distance" guidance. It made the difference and I appreciate your breaking the hard ground first. Thanks to you I'm in this for keeps now.

first time fuel

Hello Tim

Thanks for trusting me, good luck on the fuel making and enjoy the savings.

the pictures you sent I could not open not sure what program they are in and they just wont open.

As long as the pictures are on your computer you should be able to post them on TDR but it takes a little time to get them right.

Thanks Again

Talk to you soon

If I did it right there should be 3 pictures attached, two of the filter unit and one of the 1st batch of fuel.

And Ken, I tried to send you some but yahoo rejects the attachments. Try these.

Thanks

First Snow

Hello to All

We have our first snow of the fall today 32 degees and light snow looking for 11 inches (thats what the weatherman says he's a piece of work) if we get it i will post pictures. So looking for cold weather all the trucks are running fine and not problems with the dip in temp so far.

its been three years running this fuel the 04 just turned 82,000 miles. I started running this fuel at about 32,000 all the oil tests that I have sent in have come back great. the last one had problems but thats been taken care of with a new set of injectors this was not a fuel problem its a part problem according to dodge and cummins.

I am off to get used vegetable oil , NOW THE FUN STARTS.
