Hello,

Just a quick question on my DTT smart controller. I recently had my transmission rebuilt and now my smart controller is making noise. When I have the gear selector in second and the torque converter is locked up, the smart controller starts to squeek. It sounds like a squeekinng dashboard on a bumpy road or rubbing styrofoam pieces together. The harder I am into the throttle, the louder the noise. Have any of you had this happen to you? Thanks for your time, John.

Definitely negative feedback/ground/no ground, from some component. Until you isolate, I wouldn't drive for fear of damaging lock up solenoid(s) in the trans. If you have to drive, disable the DTT controller.

Thanks. Finally spoke with DTT. They said it sounds like a governor solenoid. I will replace it and the pressure sensor and see what happens.

You actually got through to DTT, that's a major feat today. JC, let us know if replacing the governor solenoid and pressure sensor do the trick... I'm assuming they were already replaced with the new trans rebuild ?

Yes, it can be a challenge to speak to someone at DTT. I ended up calling Bill on his cell phone. I don't like to do that but Bill will answer. I did purchase the master rebuild kit from DTT and my local dodge dealer rebuilt the transmission. I found out after the fact that the master rebuild kit did not include the governor solenoid. I will post an update after i get the solenoid and pressure sensor installed. It may be a while before i get a chance to do it. Thanks

Well I finally installed the governor solenoid (Borg Warner), pressure sensor and output speed sensor. Now I hear a new noise. When the key is turned to the on position (2 clicks and engine not running), there is a clicking noise coming from the bottom of the transmission. I have never heard this noise before but to be honest I have not spent much time under the truck when the key is on. Any ideas? I will try to call DTT tomorrow.

P. S. I still don't know if this repair fixed my orginal noise problem in the smart controller. I won't know that until I tow something. Thanks for your time, John.

I don't hear any clicking from mine, doesn't mean it isn't present. How's the controller behave towing, is the feedback still present?

I have not pulled anything with it yet but I need to haul my excavator in the next few weeks. I will give an update when I do. Thanks.

Well I moved my excavator today and the smart controller was quiet as a mouse and everything seemed OK. Hope the transmission is back to normal now. Thanks for you time, John.

Ever since I added a lock up switch to my truck I have also on occasion noticed a clicking coming from within the pan.
