Competition Diesels in december dyno videos

Competition lets hear some dyno numbers

There will be a little more drag with the auto. I guess it depends on what you want your truck good for. Personally I like the auto because when I see you on the street is when I want my power, I don't want to have to yell out the window to the guy next to me "NOT NOW, LET'S FIND A DYNO". I figure I would get laughed off the planet. :( I know the arguement that stick guys are making but to me the 3-10hp loss through drivetrain isn't worth getting laughed at on the street. Try telling people that watch you get beat in a race that you make more power I think that the response you'd get would be "WHATEVER". That's exactly what I told the D-MAX guy on Friday night. :D He said no cummins would out run his high powered D-MAX. What a joke. :D :D

That is about the funnest thing I think I have ever read on here!!!

So really it comes down to this, do you want to be a dyno queen and have 5-10 more hp, or do you want to toast mustangs in the 1/4? I would rather spank a car on the street rather then the dyno.

Andrew

I too agree that a manual will make a little more power on the dyno than the auto. Problem is, you have to be able to make the power.

DD can make copious amounts (obviously) and NO ONE has been able to make a number like ours. The closest guy was Nowell at 646 right? That was with a manual. We have that beat by almost 40hp!

Like I said, show me some bigger numbers with any Dodge Ram with a 5. 9l Cummins, any trans combo, drugs, whatever.

Did Jim Fuller just have a bad Day? I know he had Lawrence in this scope. But in the end it wasn't even close

446 is way off his personal best :(

Being new to diesel engines in 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, I have to admit that my first comment when I read about drag racing diesel trucks that weigh over 6K lbs was. What is wrong with these guys? Thats like getting excited about racing Pigs :D . But I have to admit that after I saw one run and it did close to 100 mph in the 1/4 mile I changed my mind and started bragging to friends about what these things can be made to do. Now I don't know if a manual or an automatic is better? I wanted a 6 speed but like they say Poor folk have poor ways and the truck that I could afford and get the right deal on was an automatic. I now like the auto and after learning what Bill and DTT can do to them, I think it is a good choice. Plus with a little help from Bill I to could get into PIG racing :D

I hate to make trouble too often but the rest of the Cummins guys are not representing themselves.

We have yet to hear from the Mitchells.

Daves pulling truck is one bad dude and he would make a showing with his. Too bad he does not compete in dyno events.

Not to take anything away from DD. Their numbers are the highest and will continue to be. I use their products and feel they are top quality. I just know how much power it takes to move a sled as well as Dave does, and its more than a few HP.

Stake,

If you want to win in this dyno shootout, contact me, I can set you up with the best transmission parts known to man. :D

Never mind the dyno, there's rumors of a stacked and lifted, 35-inch mud-tired, green Cummins Ram in Indiana, seldom seen, seldom heard from, :D that can run the 1/4 mile in the low, LOW 13's with a 5 speed manual transmission. It must be true, somebody got it on video... :D

Of course, an auto is great on the street & strip for humbling Powerstrokes and Durastinks. But don't dismiss what can be done with a stick, and a skilled driver.

I have seen another video of a guy in a red truck that ran a 13. 1 with the manual..... now he has a DTT auto in it... ... wanted to do better at the track... . :D

Don,

Wouldn't that be something?;)

Johnboy and I offered to tow them out for Tulare, but they smashed our tent and kicked us off the shop steps.

Gene

No offense ment to the Dave M's big pulling machine, but I think if you are going to compare trucks they need to be driven to the dyno or track. Dave's truck is a pulling machine and probably had 800 Hp already, but I am guessing that he can't drive to the 7-11 down the street to get a coke with it.

That being said I, along with many others, would love to see it Dyno just once... . That would give us all a goal... raise the bar a bit...

Gene,

You should do all you can to get them to show up. DD has a fine corral of trucks, but Keith has talked alot of noise about being the best and so far the DD trucks are the best. We just need to see the Mitchel trucks so we can all be assured we have seen all.

DD has decided to run the P pump and nitrous to reach the very high number of 700. Lets see what Daves got in that freight train of a puller.

Dave, Loretta you guys up to this?

Don~

You bet that would be okay... . I know its usually the other way around... but what ever. Heck put them both on the tralier and someone else can haul em. I just want to see them drive em the last 100 miles or so.

Really guys I think we all know that Daves truck would smoke all the competition if he would bring it. I am guessing that pulling is what he likes to do and he is probably not the least bit interested in our little pissin contests... ... but for the time being DD is the king of HP with an AUTOMATIC transmission. :D

Sorry I could not reisit.

Actually I would like to see Dave put his truck on a Dyno no matter how he got it there... it would just be alot more fun if he did it at "dyno event" like one of the meets.

Gene,

Is it true that Dave won't open his hood? If so, I don't understand why you wouldn't want to show people your work, the reason why you are leaps ahead. I know that everyone in the industry is worried about reverse engineering but from talking and giving people a glimps of what you got isn't going to give that much away. If they do show people then I am just talking out my a%*. One thing that DD does that I like is what you see, is what you can have. All it takes is money. :( If the set-up in Dave's truck is top secret than what good would it do to those of us(potential customers). I think that what they are doing is very cool, but in pulling doesn't suspension, tires, weight transfer, weight, ability to drive the truck properly also play into effect. Not just pure power. I'm sure that Dave makes a ton of power, but he probably has every other part mastered as well. To me it doesn't matter whether you get towed there or not, it just gives the rest of us that might break a ride home. ;) To me what matters is if I see a set-up I want that it is available (ie. Dave's,Lawrences, whoever). Personally, after weighing all my options I want Diesel Dynamics P-Pump set-up like on Lawrences truck. Unfortunately I don't have the $$$ flow. :( :( But at least I have the options.

I would be interested to see what the highest hp that any company would sell to a customer. We know that Diesel Dynamics gives you up to 700hp and moving up to 800hp. :D :D

What does Enterprise Engine offer?

I have nothing against Enterprise Engine I just want to know what I can have, and if it's not what I see and hear than it's no good to me. If you can get a set-up like Dave's what would it roughly cost? I know how the saying goes "if I need to ask then I don't have the money".

I have heard alot of rumors of what Dave runs, but the truth would be nice to have straight from the source. Dave are you out there?

BRING IT ON! I know we're going to attend and participate in May Madness 2002, so get those Mitchells in gear and get them over here!

I invite them to finally step up and show their numbers... you guys have done a great job of prophecising what their numbers "SHOULD BE", so let's finally see them. Put up or shut up. We did.

Keith,

Dont lump me in a group that prophecied anyones numbers. I made no such predictions and do not ever.

I would just like to see the Mitchells bring their trucks to MM and put up some competition, thats all. nothing more, not a stab or poke.

I dont use the Mitchell stuff, but I see they make fat power with both of their pullers.

OTOH, I do use your products and feel they are top notch.
