I seen a dual bypass oil filter relocation kit in summit racings magazine. Has anyone used this one and is it any good? It was only around $50. 00. I am considering switching to amsoil but i have a stock filter and i am unsure about how long i should run amsoil with stock filter or a dual filter kit that has been relocated. Also what are the risks of a oil leak with a relocation kit?

Search though this topic about 1-2 weeks back. I asked about remote bypass kit installs and got lots of good feedback. Pictures of installs, and many many links to websites. Also asked about drain intervals. Got lots of good info input on what different people are doing both with and without bypass filters.

You can run Fleetguards with Amsoil, just change when you would have changed the oil.
Amsoil also makes a Full Flow replacement filter, called an SDF-80.

I change my SDF-80 at 7500, my 5W-30 at one year. I ran 35,000 miles on the same oil, no by- pass. Doing samples of course. Not saying you should do this, but at least you know the oil can be abused.
Installed properly, the Amsoil by-pass will not leak.

The only thing i have ever heard of leaking on the Amsoil kit is the piece of crap Block adaptor they supply with the kit. It is a cast aluminum piece and is prone to cracking and is also difficult to use without 90 degree swivel fittings. Best thing to do is cantact TDR member "CPFF". He makes a beautiful billet aluminum adaptor that will never leak and makes the install a breeze. I have that on my truck with the Amsoil BMK-15 dual remote kit. I also used Aeroquip braided stainless steel lines and aluminum swivel fittings. I also got a special bracket "CPFF" makes that fits around the Passenger side battery and mounts the filter unit right next to the block adaptor. That piece is also really well made, show quality. The lines i used were only 12 inches long. Looks neat and is very secure. I will have access to my digital camera next week, ill take pics if you want. CPFF ahs photos already, contact him for info
