I recently had my dual disk 13" clutch rebuilt. The flywheel was resurfaced and pads replaced and floating plate replaced (old one was cracked). A new pilot bearing and throw out bearing were installed. The pilot bearing was the stock needle bearing and the previous one was gone when I took out the clutch.

Now, when the clutch pedal is pressed to the floor there is noticeable rubbing noise. I can hear the friction significantly. Prior to the replacement it was silent.

Any thoughts?

My Con ofe replacement clutch also went from silent to making some vibrating noises but it's caused by the way they increased the clamping load on the redesigned ofe. You may have a similar issue.

Same here on the SBC DD Clutches. I am on my 3rd SBC DD, and they all make the same noise when I push the clutch. I believe it is the intermediate plate rattling when the pressure is let off the disks.

So, the noise isnt the rattling that I think DD clutches are known for. I get, and have always got that.

Its a rubbing, like i can hear the loud friction of the plates rubbing against stuff.

If I am slowly engaging the clutch it will sometimes be a squek/chalkboard sound.

The clutch is a Mitchell Double Disc Clutch
