You can split it after the turbo, but what's the point? You spend more money and get no more power.

second that...

if you were gonna do it tho, split it after the axle

as for a kit that bolts right onto a 1st gen - good luck

your better off to start from scratch

air flow systems sells ex parts

A single 4" will net the same flow as dual 3". Plus, like the others have said, what's the point? Tell him we recommended a 4" turbo back system. Unless he just HAS to have dual exhuast, then make your own dual 4" system. I wouldnt waste my time with 3" pipe for anything.

The point of dual exhaust on a diesel pickup is to be able to share the smoke and beautiful music of the Cummins with BOTH sides of the street!!!!;) It also balances out the truck so it will not tip over because of the heavy 4" exhaust and 5" chrome tip... ...

Way back before the day of TDR, and the knowledge of any exhaust systems, or even the need for 4" exhaust I took my truck to a shop that bends 3" exhaust, and they were able to remove the stock tailpipe and put in dual tailpipes, after he fabbed a Y pipe. There's no need to Y it any sooner then near the rear end. I've actually had the dual tailpipes on my truck long enough, that I'm going to miss them when I get to go with 4" exhaust.

Sheesh guys, why do they put dual 8" stacks on a Peterbuilt? It sure don't need them, but by golly it looks and sounds cool, especially with a 600 hp Cat, with the Jakes on level 3!

I made my own duals( after axle) with 5 1/2" slash stacks for tips. I get: "looks cool, where'd you get them?" all the time. it never gets old!

Duals sound different two, hehehe
Deeper exhaust note.

I liked the ones on my 3rd gen.
They sounded really good, even with the straight thru muffler.
I just couldn't see spendin' the money this time around.
So, I bought single 5".

Michael, DIS of Pittsburg says you can free up 15-20 hp by going to dual 5s, so dual 7-8s would free up close to 50hp, right? :-laf
