Can someone tell me who makes or sells the twin ducted intake hood for our trucks. I have not been able to find it anywhere. Thanks.

Doug Hofeldt makes the Air Bulldog hood. It is expensive but he does not make much on it. It is expensive in quality materials and takes a week of solid work to make it. It is fiberglass and includes ducting to a custom air box bottom and to the boost pipe coming out of the intercooler up to the engine.

The hood was written up in TDR before (for example, Issue 29, pp. 123-4). Contact him at 209-232-2469 or -- email address removed --

Hemi, is the Harwood hood ducted?

I love the looks of the Air Bulldog hood, functional too:D . The price on the Air Bulldog I think was $800 unpainted and $1200 painted to color of truck. Not really too bad of a price for what you get. I saw a truck in Des Moines at a Flying J truck stop with one that looked like the Air Bulldog, looked completely awesome:) . It was a 1 ton 4x4, blue in color, sounded like a 4 inch exhaust. My wife thought I was staring at the blonde driving it, although she was attractive, you just don't see a truck like that everyday;) .

Dan, I'll have to take you up on that one of these days. I get over that way occasionally, my in-laws live about 45 minutes from Council Bluffs.

Maybe when next summer rolls around we can have a TDR event over there. :D

I'll have to check with the better half, this is a pretty busy season.

Since you both have the Air Bulldog, how functional is the ram air setup? Does it really help with egt's? I remember reading the issue where they talked about it, but don't think they had any data to support it.

Thanks,

Steve

Air Bulldog induction hood

What can I say. . AWESOME system! Cool looking, cool functioning.

I would have to say that of all the upgrades I have made on my Ram the Air Bulldog induction hood is my favorite (not perhaps the most functional, just my favorite). In addition, Doug Hofeldt (designer/fabricator of the Air Bulldog induction hood system) is one heck of a nice guy. He will work with you on any special modifications you may want on your hood or Dam Air... he understands there are those of us that refuse to choose off-the-rack stuff. :D

..... again, what can I say...

... the only way someone's going to get my Air Bulldog hood is to pry my cold, dead fingers from it :D:D:D:D

Since the Driftwood paint has started peeling off my hood I was considering a Bulldog hood, not much more than painting the hood alone. Need to wait and see if more areas of peel develop.

Guys,

I have been looking at several hoods and I have seen a couple nice ones. The only reason that I did look around is because I couldn't afford the air bulldog. After comparing price and quality and the fact that it was the only working hood that I could find. There is no option in my mind go air bulldog. :D I will be saving my money to one day order that hood. :D

Merry Christmas to you too Doug. :)

And thanks again for making my Ram look so good.

PS: I have another custom idea I need to discuss with you. :D

While I was at Turkey Rod Run in Daytona, two vendors were selling them for $425 and $450. But I didn't take any of the literature!

Those are nice looking hoods too, but they have no function. I'm not trying to knock them, just don't want to spend my money on just looks;)

I am looking at these hoods as well. Does anyone, including Doug, have any before and after performance data on them (ie. EGT's, hp/torque, acceleration)? Just curious while I am waiting on my tax return. Anyone looking for a standard Forest Green Sport hood? :D

My good bud Steve(HeberRam) had the Air Bulldog put on his truck along with the Doug Hofeldt Air Dam(also functional) at last years Utah Dyno Days. Doug installed it himself!!! And after looking at his hood and watching him work, all I can say is this guy has a great product and does super work!!!! You don't just get a Hood for the price but a modified air box and an after cooler set up.

It is pretty Cool:cool: sitting behind this hood in the truck:D

The only thing that would be cooler is a pop up Grabber hood scoup like my first car had (70 GTX)
