Sometimes your ISP or email provider will add a spam filter that tosses email from tdr. You might need to change security or filter settings on your email program.

Thanks TTMT, and Bill. I just need Steve to tell me if my ISP is bouncing the e-mails back. I've checked my end out as much as I can (tech support, anti-virus, security options, and filtering optins on e-mail)

Steve?? Got anything if my server is not accepting TDR mails?

TIA

Oh, Baby, I like it when you talk Nerd to me.

But, What does that mean?

My e-mail server is unavailable?

I get new mail everyday. Maybe e-mail is blocked between TDR server and my E-mail server?

Thanks,

I'm not getting my email notification either. I'm also having trouble logging in. I have to use the recovery system to log in. I know for a fact I'm using the right user name and password. Also as I was using spell checker on this post, the corrections I made with the software did not take when I finished checking for spelling errors. I fixed them after spell check was done. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:{

Wayne.

Merrick - what that means is that for some reason your email server is rejecting emails from the TDR.

I'll have to do some research on why some of the email notifications aren't going through. I'm still getting mine no problem and others are as well, only some of them are getting bounced. I do know that my ISP enabled spam checking software that was stopping TDR emails from getting through bug once I set it that the TDR site was ok they've all been coming through.

On the spell check you are the first person to report a problem with it. I've been monitoring the thread on the vBulletin hack site to see if anyone is having problems with it or if updates have been issues but I haven't seen any at all.

On the login problem - what do you mean by the recovery system? I don't know what you mean by that. What we have found is that Windows XP by defaults sets the security so that cookies cannot be sent by a site. However, since you are posting in the website forum I doubt that's the problem. Give me some more information and do what I can to help you out.

I bet Road Runner has us blocked!

Acceptable Use Policy Road Runner Anti-Spam Initiative Sub Account Setup Sub Account User Unable to Send or Receive E-mail Undeliverable E-mail

Road Runner Anti-Spam Initiative

Road Runner, in response to the ongoing (and increasing) amount of incoming spam complaints from our customers and our divisions, has implemented additional resources to stem the tide of incoming spam (Unsolicited Commercial or Bulk E-mail). Road Runner has been using a limited form of localized blocking lists since Road Runner's inception, and this is simply an extension of that policy, designed to alleviate the ever-growing issue of incoming abusive spam attacks on our mail infrastructure and to our subscribers. The enormous amounts of incoming spam were affecting Road Runner's ability to provide our customers with quality and consistent service levels, and we were forced to take proactive steps to address this issue.

The Road Runner anti-spam policy addresses incoming spam only and relies on four separate solutions from MAPS, coupled with a locally maintained block list, to provide an up-to-date and accurate resolution::

MAPS Realtime Blackhole (RBL) list

Relay Spam Stopper (RSS) list

Dial-up User List (DUL)

MAPS Nonconfirmed Mail List (NML)

With these solutions, if someone sends an e-mail message and the sender's IP address or SMTP server is on one of these lists, then the mail is blocked.

The introduction of this tool may result in the inadvertent blocking of some e-mail that is not traditional spam. Road Runner subscribes to the RBL because it helps us to decide whether we want to accept or reject e-mail from a given source. MAPS does not block e-mail, but tells us which IP addresses are suspect in their mailing practices. This helps us to keep a significant amount of unwanted commercial e-mail from clogging the e-mail boxes of our customers.

Road Runner also maintains a local block list, separate from the MAPS lists. Road Runner Security may update this list in real time under certain situations, such as an active Denial of Service attack.

For more information on how you can report spam to Road Runner, please send a message to -- email address removed --, with the subject "Request Info". Issues surrounding blocks to Road Runner Customers (i. e. , a provider blocking e-mail from Road Runner users) should be directed to -- email address removed --. Issues surrounding blocks from Road Runner (i. e. , MAPS, local block lists) should also be directed to -- email address removed --.

Steve, If I log out and come back to the TDR site and log back in I get directed to the password recovery form page. Up until a week ago all was working fine. (login, and email notification ). I haven't changed anything with my system, and I'm not having problems outside the TDR site. I have Windows XP and I'm on Roadrunner.

Wayne.

P. S. I found the problem with the spell check. If I clicked finished checking, closed the window and did not hit insert into document, the corrections wouldn't be made. My fault I apologize. I also did not recieve an email notification for replies made on this forum after my reply post.

When I log out the page that shows up just keeps clicking or blinking, until I select another page to go to. Then when I log back in I get the password recovery page. I am loged in at this point but I don't under stand why this happens now and it didn't before. On the subject of email notification, is it possible that the TDR server is infected with a virus and Roadrunner is blocking email responses?

Wayne.

Could you take a screen snapshot of the password recovery page? I haven't seen that page before and don't know what your talking about. I have searched for "recovery" on all the templates and can't find a page that has that on it either. If you can do a screen snapshot and email it to me at -- email address removed -- then I might be able to tell you more. Also, let me know what browser you are running. You might also try clearing your cache and temporary internet files - it sounds like maybe something is corrupt in there which is taking you to the same page each time. Lastly, have you changed your password or email address recently?

On the virus thing the server has current virus protection software on it and it's very unlikely that it would be infected anyway since it's running on a FreeBSD box and there aren't many viruses out there targeting FreeBSD. I'm receiving my email notification as well and they are coming through virus free. Most likely it's related to whats posted above and they are blocking it through one of their 5 blocks. Try emailing that address and ask them about it. Here's a sample message source from one of my email notifications that you could send to them so they see how they are coming through:

was email notification for PM's on the fritz?

I just starting getting email notification for PM's from the past 3 days.

Steve, I contacted Road Runner about the block that they may have for TDR and I keep getting the run around with them this is the most recent email I got from them! Any suggestions?

In order for those entities who are currently on one of the MAPS lists to

be removed, they must contact MAPS directly. Depending on the type of

block, this can be either via telephone, or via the MAPS home page. In most

cases, a system that is on one of the MAPS lists is easily removed,

following some simple steps. If you would like to know if a mail server is

located on the MAPS lists, you can visit the following pages:

MAPS RBL/RSS/DUL - http://mail-abuse.org/cgi-bin/lookup

MAPS NML - http://mail-abuse.org/cgi-bin/lookup_nml
