We need to start a list on here of everyone who is having this problem & fax it in to them or email it to show that we are all having issues..... also bring it to their attention that we all are getting the same story that they aren't aware of this issue. Then maybe they can come up with a fix & stop the "we weren't aware of a problem" games.

Edge acting like Banks

sounds like Edge is in bed with Banks.

Just send us your money We have no problems with our products

Next they will tell you it will not void your warranty Oo.

Good Luck

Cliff

I also upgraded to the drag comp ver. 8 a couple of months ago. I've got to cycle the power once to get it to power up now when it is cold out

Do all the sublevels of main levels 1 thru 4 need to be on sublevel 5 to not affect the power of main level 5?

In other words, if I have level one as 1x1, will it affect power output on 5x5?

Sounds like a good idea also.

Maybe a moderator can step in and let us know how to go about this the right way.

We also need to include the info from the other post about the sublevels affecting performance too. My comp does this also.

I have a problem with my Drag Comp ver7 with the sub levels. I can set to power level 2 and adjust the sub level in that power level and it affects the sub level in the lower power level (boy that sounds confusing) example... If I want a different sub level in power level #1 I have to go up one power level and adjust the sub level there to affect #1 sub level. I called them and got the same "send it back for them to test" well after 2 tries I just gave up. After hearing the problems with version 8 I just leave the sub levels alone on my version 7. I would love for them to just understand we have issues that need to be fixed. :(

Did you swap injectors or add the smarty yet? What did you get on the dyno?

yea i ended up dynoing with just my mods in my signature and dynoed 534, 1231 (first to be over 1200 on their dyno by the way  ) added a smarty and power dropped to 485 or so. . im a happy guy, other than these issues but yea it did good!

LOtero

what setting on the smarty did you dyno on. I was going to try dynoing with smarty at our dyno day in march but not sure if it will be worth it to do multiple runs with it if it won't help the numbers.

Dyno Runs

my dyno runs were

No Comp DDIIIs, SPS62 = 370 @ 2650 / 748 @ 2200

5X4 DDIIIs, SPS62 = 450 @ 2900 / 846 @ 2650

5X5 DDIIIs, SPS62 = 534 @ 2850 / 1231 @ 2050

5X5/smarty DDIIIs, SPS62 = 498 @ 3150 / 992 @2500

the only reason i can think of for my power dropping the way it did is i forgot to put my comp back to 5X5 when i hooked up the smarty, but i think i did.

8 apparently if i would have used a softer program it might have worked better, but i was gettin pretty hot and only had a half hour. .

I want to try smarty sw2 & comp 5x5..... I think it is better anyways. The truck just feels stronger on SW2 for some reason. Do you like the Smarty LOtero?

you guys have me worried... ... i sent mine in on Monday for the drag up date..... maybe i should call then and tell them to forget it until they have a fix for it

Everyone here has got to call them and get it in there heads to recognize the problem. I posted my e-mail volley with the tech dept in the Comp thread. I think that if you all call and get the numbers there to show a problem they will get after it.

Well I just sent the comp back to them again. They are going to do some testing on it to try and figure it out. I will pass on the findings to you all,so hold tight.

I sent a email to there tech department backing up your claims & explained also how the lower sublevels are effecting performance of upper levels too. I also mentioned that we are not the only ones with troubles. Anyone else wanna jump in on the wagon?

Shucks, if they are assuming we owners are all ignorant and uninformed as a group, why not send them a pointer to this TDR thread so THEY can get a bit "informed" to the fact their shortcomings are now public, and rather widely distributed... ;)

Then maybe they'll stop treating customers like mushrooms - "keep 'em in the dark, and feed 'em BS"...

I didn't know how to send this, but good idea.

Just do a "cut and paste" of the pointer to this thread:

http://turbodieselregister.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1702037

And include it in any Email sent to Edge - this thread also makes reference to a similar thread over on the Cummins Forum, so they'll quickly be aware there are at least *2* active threads publicly exposing these issues - might actually generate motivation for them to take positive action to acknowledge and correct the problem, rather than "Gee, we sure never have heard of THAT problem before"...

It appears that even recent repaired and upgraded units are STILL suffering failures and problems, so the issue still exists in current units - my own is a ver. 7, and is functioning perfectly - so I don't actually have a dog in this fight - but guys who DO might want to take aggressive action... ;)

In addition to the active posts responding in this thread, look at how many have READ it, but not posted - 1549 so far, and a friend TELLS a friend, etc... ;)

I'm on my second ver. 8 with the same problems. S. O. S. every time, Call Edge, talk to tech. act surprised, get rma, spend $16 for shipping, you know the drill. It sure is getting old. For a product that costs over $600 it should work properly.
