On the 98. 5-02 the Edge EZ and Smarty do the same thing, the Smarty having more options to get there and other cool adjustments with the REV0 software.

What are you trying to do?

They both provide timing, what you need if you want to stack boxes it a box like the TST Power max with either the EZ or the Smarty.

Call Edge and see about the upgrade to the Edge Comp, then get the SMARTY to stack boxes. There is no advantage to EZ + SMARTY. SMARTY gave me better response and smoother power with better fuel economy. I had the EZ, then upgraded to Comp, then added the SMARTY. I personally like the SMARTY addition best, gave me the most improvement to driving. Plus you can read codes and correct speedo.

However, you better have your drivetrain ready!!!!

I'm on my 2nd 5spd trans rebuild, 2nd clutch (finally went double disk), rebuilt rear axle, twisted driveshaft, numerous u-joints, etc.

Look on the kids face driving the Mustang, viewed in the rearview mirror - Priceless!:-laf

(Course you have to let off the go petal to see the Mustang through the smoke):D

you can run both just if you have edge box on smarty has to be on an even setting. Even settings dont add timing. I have edge an smarty in my truck

Ditto, Roland. I like the low end pull of the Smarty and the EZ is a good addition for a small boost. I have since gone to an FMS fueling box (no timing) to use with the Smarty for better adjustability and more top end power. The Smarty is great for code reading and clearing, tire size adjustment as well as the adjustability of the parameters.
