Edge or Smarty?

I tried and EDGE/Attitude a couple years ago, I was not happy with the EGTs when towing and my mpg's went down, it went bye-bye real fast. I don't hammer my truck, drive like a little old lady, but I tow, and when I tow it is always heavy. I don't think the EDGE is well suited for multiple applications. The Smarty on the other hand is.



I installed gauges when I bought my truck new in 2006, so I already had them when I got my EDGE, and I just kept them, even though the EDGE had the gauge features.



I picked up my Smarty Jr used, from someone who wanted to move up to the Sr, it had not been used very long by the previous owner. I am VERY pleased with the Jr. My truck runs better, my egt's are MUCH lower, and my mpg's went up a little. I really like it, I would get another one immediately if I moved up to a newer 6. 7 truck.

So it sounds like the Sarty w/guages or pod is the way to go. RHestand; I wouldve taken you up on your offer but for some reason I missed the rest of this thread, and besides, mine is an 05.

I have an 05, like you. Also have one of the First 100 Smarties with Original Program.



Get that and prepare for "Shock & Awe":-laf you won't regret it!

I Set it on Level 9 (WILD) for daily driving, and level 3 for heavy towing.

Some of you mentioned some of the exct issues I am facing and the main reason I am asking the question. My EGT's seem pretty high when towing, even in the "tow" mode. It seems I have to turn it down stock. When I return from my vacation to the "AOR" I think i'm gonna do the switch. Thanks for all the input.

A buddy of mine tried my Jr, he had an Edge J/ATT on an '05 6sp, and soon had gauges and JR on the way. Not enough power, high egts etc. He ran a pressure box to get more power but fried his injectors. He is happy now and so am I. People will by the edge quickly so you won't be out much. Edge ez's don't sell though.
