Ha! Time to do some better research.
My 100% stock 2018 gets within ± 5% of the mileage my 2005 got under nearly all circumstances, and the 05 had multiple efficiency upgrades to the truck and motor. The only time it doesn’t is due to extensive driving with the torque converter unlocked (05 was a manual), not the EGR.
There isn’t 2 mpg left on the table from the factory, let alone 8-14 mpg.
It's kinda like the guy that buys a $80k Mercedes and wants to brag about his fuel economy.
But since mine was tuned and deleted, the fuel economy has increased by 10 to 20% depending on circumsatancees.. I don't pay a lot of attention to it but I do notice. I run the 30 Horse tune. Could go tp to 200 (I think) but even on the 60 horse tune, I didn't like it at all. Just now getting used to the 30 horse tune and liking it. Still not as smooth as stock, though.
