Hi guys,

My cruise control hasn't worked for a while, but I never bothered to look into it as I don't use it that much towing. Anyhow, I was in the process of installing a Pacbrake and think I messed up something in the process. I now have the following issues: power windows don't work, no blower motor, door locks don't work to unlock, but do to lock (can unlock and lock with key fob), and ABS and Air Bag lights are on. I checked several fuses and all are good. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Reed

Truck is pretty much undriveable right now with temperatures in the 90s. Can't roll down the windows and can't get air into the cab with the blower motor out. I have the factory repair manuals and will have to sit down and study the electrical schematics to see what could possibly tie all these devices together. Very frustrating. Need to get it fixed before the 12th of July as I have a trip planned with the 5th wheel. I hope to have this fixed and have the PacBrake installed and working.

Reed,

Check the fuses in the PDC, especially F1, the 50-amp biggie. With so many individually fused circuit branches affected it may be a main line fuse.

..... also, try jiggling the key in the switch... . If the key switch goes bad, it can affect all those systems at one time... . strange on the door locks, though.

The door lock fuse controls the power through the door switches. If the fuse is blown, or circuit inop at that point, the CTM can suppy power to the door lock motors through use of the remote. The ignition switch is high on the suspect list for several of the inop items, and a jiggle or two is warranted; but the switched door locks are direct (fused) battery power.

Solved most of my issues today. Didn't see it on the first pass through, but I blew the 30 Amp Ignition fuse in the engine compartment. Replaced that and now the only thing that isn't working is the door lock. It will unlock, but won't lock. At least I can drive the truck now.

Will it lock from the passenger side? Also, and I presume you know this, but asking anyway; you do know the door locks won't lock with the key in the ignition?

Ha, did know that, but didn't dawn on me that was the issue. All works fine after I replaced the 30 Amp Ignition fuse under the hood.
