anyone done this? almost a thousand bucks cheaper than others i've seen. the guy told me they average 2 mpg better than stock diesel prices are killing me

Search ems conversion... Many topics 2nd and 3rd gen... I remember reading somwhere that mpg was less than 1 mpg. .

Ok mpg isn't what they said would it be worth while to lose the unit bearing? Had trucks for 3 years no problem with them yet but i heard they are like 500 bucks a pop? also they are a ***** to get off i did have to replace a rotor took me 2 hours to knock the junk off the knuckle

Don't expect 2 mpg. My truck is a late '02 without the inner-axle disconnect and I did the Dyna-trac conversion along with F-1 Mach 1. 2's and backing my Edge Ez off to the middle setting and I've barely averaged 2 mpg better with all the mods. Allot of money was spent and I'm happy with everything but I was hoping for more.
Mike.

i guess their is not much that is going to save us from the oil monsters huh. oh well i like the idea of having hubs and well bearings i can see not just some dang encased thing

I've had my EMS kit inst. on my truck for about 20K miles, and I think they are great.

I'm sure I gained about 1 MPG, but my major reason for the EMS was the better bearing set-up, and not having to spin all drive parts in frnt. of transfer case. IMO that is just wasted wear and tear for nothing.

There is plenty of info. on this site about EMS and Dyna-Track, but I'll have to say EMS was great to work with when I installed mine.

I finally put my kit on Friday--it's been in my garage since Aug--anyway I went to the 35 spline setup and CAD delete with a spool(sled pulling) and the yukon superjoints---all in all not to bad of an install--had to grind a little off the outter stub axle ears to get it through the knuckle and they didn't send the right seal for the CAD delete---the yukon super joints are a pain to install, but they had told me about that prior---lost the ABS, but I disconnected it back in Aug and all has been fine concerning that, except for the ABS and BRAKE idiot lights---moser axles are what were in the kit also---everything felt fine on the hour drive home--will know more in the weeks to come, but I expect all to be A-OK----nice kit with more parts than Dynatrac's system and it's around $700 less also... . chris

1 1/2 years on EMS conversation. No problems...
I think it helped in the steering also, no ' stuck in a rut' feeling when turning.
And ,I sure like not having to worry about the OEM Hubs failing.

I only have about 1200 miles on mine and I like it. One of my unit hubs was gone, and when I did the conversion I discovered that I also have a bad ball joint I need to get replaced. When locked I can get the joints to "chatter" a little bit at full lock, otherwise everything's fine. Nice bonus of the EMS is it comes with a new brake rotor also.
