Competition Coating Pistons ??

Off Roading Desert Fab Motor Sports Axle Truss

GOT TIRED OF THE OLD WORN OUT DUALLY MOTOR

I'm going to show are few insights of correctly building a race engine

First clean, clean, clean

Bore with honing plates,

Line hone mains

Install roller cam bearings,

Deck block square

The second picture is the Bullet Billet racing grind, with a little help again from John Russin

The cam bearing are the same 55 mm bearings Ray installs in every motor he builds

The bearings are special Cleveite 77 coated race bearings

The rings are a special gapless done for me from total seal

The pistons are worked new Cummins, coated by the same NASCAR coater Ray uses in all of his motors

You didn't get tired of the old duallie motor... . thought that sucka cracked from end to end?

I wonder why the camshaft is not coated with the anti friction coating? Hey is that a modified step into the piston bowl? Looks like some extra work was done there as well?

Still waiting to hear from someone I know about pistons and possibly a cam? Would like to talk to them about the rods and crankshaft too... . hmmmmmm... Hopefully they'll read this and get out from under that ol shade tree sipping saspirilla and contact me via telephone or e-mail... ... .....

Did you get that unit on the dyno yet??? The Keating Machine is turning out some respectable numbers and is closing in on the worlds qwickest diesel... ... . Who knows if they're even holding back some- for a total surprise to some southern pilot... ...

Comp461, A little off topic... I have read many of your interesting posts, it seems you have quite a history in the racing business. I am a landscape contractor in Ventura County, CA, specialize in installations for estates and large custom homes. I am presently working for a client who has a very impressive property & used to be into drag racing in the late 60's to mid 70's... I wonder if you know him? Maybe a little before your time, He is originally from Colo. , From this link, it seems John D. used to own an NHRA funny car record, also notice he drove cars with Keith Black & Ed Pink motors:

Nice site . a little before my time , the A/gas car was the beginnings of what became competition eliminator . a lot of cool pictures and a life time of racing. Anyone who has seen the movie DEAD POETS SOCIETY will remember the scene where Robin Williams has them looking at picture of long past foot ball teams and asking did the live their lives to the fullest . carpe diem . or seize the day , meaning live to the fullest and take every opportunity to extend you self and stretch in to the next level. for when its is all over did you do every thing you could to get there. Looks like this guy did.

heh heh heh- Hey Greg- better strap them bottles in the background in the shop there... ever see one of them take off??:--) :-laf :-laf . you know- safety first... ... ...

In looking at these pics I am left wondering where the custom aluminum oil pan is on that engine?

Details Preston... ..... I look @ the whole enchilada... . look I can see 8-AN fuel lines coming from the fuel cell there and Hey looky the snow water injection storage tank on the firewall, I also don't see a gap between the back of the cab and the front of the bed like you get with a steel stocker type body. I see a 3-speed sitting there with a blanket... ...

What do you see???

One thing I see that's a little different to me, is the starter on the same side as the turbo's. I know my truck ain't like that. And those pretty blue springs are nice too. That is the starter, ain't it?

. . Preston. .

they dont make a adaptor for our motors to the lenco. might be why the starter is on that side just a thought

The Fat Kid
Andy

They ? They who? That plate there is a custom piece- right before your eyes.....

It's even more amazing to watch a water jet in action... ... .

Greg? What happened? Fall asleep? A. D. D. ? Keep going:D ... ... ... ... .....

Again- where's that custom aluminum oil pan?? Looks like a stocker there.
Got a close up of the Roller Bearings installed in block?
