engine heavy rattle up front when cold

[Bug Out]

The engine makes a real loud rattle noise when its cold, only in the front area. Once warm,it seems to go away... it almost sounds like the old fashion ball bearings loose in a bearing race or similar... . ?



I have never heard this kind of rattle, clanging before out of 3 previous CTD's... I know it under warranty, but is this something normal with the 6. 7 or did I get a pot's and pan's model ???

Mine does this all the time. Wouldnt worry bout it, just the standard diesel noise. . seemed to show up after 20k, i`m at 65k now, no issues.

But does anybody know what that noise is?? I don't own a 6. 7, but the ones I've heard are quiet. That tells me something may be amiss. Where there's smoke, there is usually fire nearby.

Mine makes some funky noises like that only when it's very cold and goes away quickly. I no longer pay any attention to it anymore. But leave it at the dealer at night and have them start it in the am once it get's cold out. I figure with my lenghtly warranty if it's something bad I won't have anything to really worry about...
