Hello guys I'm brand new to the forum and brand new to Dodge/Cummins...coming from Ford's... I just bought a 2005 and the guy that sold it to me mis-represented the condition of the engine.. It's got severe blow-by - so now I'm left looking for a new engine or engine re-build.. Do you have recommendations for a good shop in Northern California?

After some research it appears my choices are:

Wright's Truck Service - Yuba City
Orangevale Diesel - Citrus Heights (Truck is there right now)

I spoke to Imler Diesel and they referred me to Wright's, they don't do major engine repair/swaps..

Thanks for your help.

Be sure you do a Cummins Reman shortblock and have the the head done. I don't see the miles on the truck? Injectors think about the BBI's really good stuff. Last thing put some better fuel filtration on .

Thank you sir. I looked into the Cummins Reman and got pricing. The truck is at Wright's Truck Service in Yuba city.. They do complete rebuilds in house.. I'm waiting on the results of a complete diagnosis.

The Truck has 203K miles so I'm pretty sure that I have at least 1 bad injector and if that's the case I will likely be replacing them all.....

And yes for sure I will be instilling a FASS fuel system..

I'm not looking forward to the cost of all this but I am looking forward to having piece of mind..

Thanks

Just be careful on the injectors you use. I would take a reman over a shop built motor. The equipment that cummins use is state of the art no small shop can match that. IMHO
