What oil for air tools?

Look What I Dragged Home!

I got tired of turning the engine with a pry bar wedged between the bolts without the damper, or using a 15mm socket on one bolt and splitting the socket or rounding off the bolt head or loostening the bolt when turning the engine backwards, while the engine is on an engine stand. Here`s the drill, take a piece of 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1/4" square tubing ( the stuff they make trailer hitch receivers out of ) 3/4" or 1" long, a piece of 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1/4" plate, weld the plate on one end of the square tubing. Take one of your split 1/2" drive sockets, grind off the split end, weld the 1/2" square drive piece in the middle of the square plate, TA DA!!! you now have a square socket that will fit over all 4 bolt heads with the damper on, and you can turn the engine either way with a 1/2" ratchet, try it, you`ll like it!!!:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf

I`ve got a baring tool too. But you can`t use it with the engine on the engine stand and no adapter plate on the engine. also, the baring tool is a REAL pain in the butt to use with the engine in the truck. this tool makes adjusting the valves, finding TDC, Oo. MUCH easier!

I second what Chipster said, I have a baring too, MUCH more trouble than it's worth. I used the alternator pulley nut to turn the engine over when I did my valves and it worked fine!
