Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Excessive Smoke and No Power at Start-up

Okay Guys, I need some ideas here. I'm thinking maybe the injectors, but I'm ready to listen. Lately my truck has started to smoke excessively on morning start-ups and has a significant loss of power. After I open it up and blow out the pipes it does okay unless I park it for several hours.



If I start it up and just let it idle, it continues to smoke the entire time. It also smokes on moderate acceleration. What do yo guys think?

What color is the smoke? Black, white, or blue?

It is heavy black with a hint of blue.

Is the smoke at idle, or only when you are driving?

It has heavy black smoke at startup and during acceleration. It is really heavy if I put my foot in it.

Kinda went through the same thing on my truck recently.

Check codes first.

Check MAP Sensor connections.

Check Edge power and ground connections.
