I installed the Pac myself. I just put the black and the white wire in the correct spot in the ECM plug. After installing the rest it work great. Shadrach

I use the Pac Brake in my 98 12 Valve, works great and I love it. Let us know how the brake works for you.

I am considering installing a Jake myself. Can anyone tell me if I need to do anything to calibrate (or inform) the computer, or will it recognize the new equipment when I connect it?

I don't think anything has to be activated, just wired into the ECM. But the year of your truck would help. Fill out your sig so we know what you drive.

I am the original poster to this tread. I just thought I would let everyone know that gave me imput. I bought the pacbrake and just finnished the install yesterday. The installation went pretty good. It probably took around 8 to 10 hours. I just took my time and read the instructions that came with the brake as well as an article in the TDR issue. I used the BD control that mounts on the stick shift instead of the one pacbrake has. Thanks again to everyone that replied to this thread. There was a lot of good information and it really helped me to make up my mind what brake to buy. Oo.
