I had an exhaust pipe hanger spot welded (again) to the pipe. The actual hanger is mounted on the transmission.
This will be the 3rd time Ive had to have this rewelded since I got the new exhaust maybe 3 years ago.

Here is my problem. This time, when I got home, I noticed that when in gear, a very strong vibration that Im pretty sure is caused by the connection of the trans to the exhaust pipe.

Here is my question. Should the trans be vibrating like that ? Not sure whether to first have the trans looked at, or just go back to the muffle shop and have them redo the weld.

Also, I recommend welding the rod to an exhaust clamp, and then just put the clamp over the pipe.
The hanger and pipe were designed to have the end of the hanger welded to the pipe. But I will take a look at your idea. I just dont want to get a rattle when Im done.
Wasnt sure if I should just go back to midas or start with my trans guy. Probably start with him just to be sure.

Had a guy tell me this is a common problem and to go with a new and improved headpipe and hanger. I wonder if you suggestion is what he is really talking about.
