I would like to know what exhaust everyone is running. I would like to get the straight pipe sound but I need to run a muffler. Also would like to keep it out the side.

Thanks

Depends what you're looking for. . I like mine quiet, so I went to our local big rig store and picked out a 4" id, 9" od, 32" long muffler that goes on big trucks. It's straight through, but has 3 chambers throughout the length for sound absorption. About half the sound of the first "straight thru" muffler I had that just had louvers. No drone, much more civilized. Don't have a brand, though.

Mbrp is good. I would also look at the aluminized steel as a serious consideration. It's cheaper and mine has 100k and still looks good.

So MBRP is a decent diesel muffler... I have replaced the trubro back with what the shop said was a performance muffle but the truck sounds more like a jet than a diesel.

I would like to run the muffler delete but cant with local laws.

I haven't seen the inside of others, but the MBRP is a straight-through design. You can drop a ball right through it. They have louvers inside, and the directions say it can be installed with the flow in either direction, depending on how much noise reduction you want. Mine is pretty close to what a straight piped truck sounds like. You can get their system in single pipe design or duals. They exit in the stock location. I installed mine, with help from another member here, in the hotel parking lot at Thunder in Muncie. The most difficult part was removing the stock exhaust. Thank God someone there had a Sawsall.

Is there a good place to get the MBRP Muffler from ? I would like to see if I can use the pipe already there and just get the muffler.

Before spending all your scratch on a muffler, try removing the factory one. Leave the cat in place and see what you think/hear.

I dont have a stock exhaust anymore. The place were I bought the truck put a aftermarket system on it. NEver liked the sound to much more like a jet than a diesel. No cat either. Dont think there was one either

Just GOOGLE "MBRP Exhaust", I am sure several sites will appear. I love my MBRP 5". Mark at DPPI is where I got mine, he will sell you just the muffler.
