Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Cattle Gun Fun!!

to all you Minnesota'ns out there

My Son has found a joy of Old Tractors (like me) He found a Farmall A tractor that looks to be a worthy candidate for a restoration. Farmall A's are a 2 point hitch. There are conversions that will make it like a more normally found 3 point hitch. Has anyone ever use one of these conversions ? and if so is a selectable drop on he height of the implements. After this conversion had been made could he then use my 3 point implements? I have looked on-line and there are not so many 2 point implements.

He likes My Ford NAA with the ability to select the height rather than just up/ Down and would have to get off and completely re-adjust to plow for instance when he puts the one side of the tractor into the farrow.

The Cubs will bring pretty good money up here still, most have the under slung sickle bar mower.

They are handier than a pocket on a tee shirt...

Nate and I went and took a look at the tractor, its a young man's that his father owned it and he passed and is now wanting to sell it. As soon as Nate and I got out of the Dodge I told him its a Super A not just an A. Its got a hyd system and the pump is mounted halfway long side the motor, which is a plus really. I never really cared of the Farmalls many of the implements were made to hook up mid ship on the tractor. This one is an offset driver seat so it was better viewing the implants over the crops. Took some #'s and are looking at them to see just how bad this tractor has been *******-ized at least some of the sheet metal has been.

Very cool, I am just getting into old tractors.

I "inherited" a '44 John Deere B and a '48 Farmall M this past winter. Both were running when parked 20 years ago, and still produce compression and turn over easily. I plan to get the M running and sold this summer (was the plan from day 1 with my FIL who's parents owned them) to fund repairs, etc on the B.

I also got a '70 Case 580CK, it is ROUGH but working.

I like the old tractors the cranking of the motor a pop!! fizz!! and Belches out a puff of smoke and idles funny for a second while I get off, let it catch it's breath smooth out,put my coffee cup on-board, Hoist my Butt onto the seat adjust the headset for the Siruis (cant be total old school) adjust the goggles pull the coat hood over my head and head out to plow some snow.

Penny drives by in a enclosed heated cab of the IH/Case :-laf
