Ideas for next bomb

Hey guys noticed that on Fass advertisement in the new TDR mag, that it includes a Fuel heater. Has the Fass always come with a heater? Is this something new? IF anyone nows let em know.

Fass heater

Yes, fuel heater is included, the heater is an in port and an out port that you plum water coolant or oil from the engine to the ports to circulate through the Fass system. I did mine with coolant and 1/2inch hydraulic/mesh covered hose into the head and lower rad hose with 2 ball valves to turn off in summer and on when it get real cold up here. (CANADA). Installed last spring but haven't had to use it yet due to a pretty warm winter. I think i'll make some use out of the heater, last year at this time i was hunting up north and it was -35c below. Even the Ford(7. 3-SORRY GUYS) i drive for a living was starting to wax up just cruising from call to call. Some members think its a waste,if you live in warmer climates it probable is,but if there is a chance of you driving into colder climates like me i'll error on the side of caution. ;) DW PS---When starting the truck after sitting in cold weather and using the exhaust brake to help warm up the truck,my Autometer water temp gauge only take about 3 minutes to start to climb so it should n't take that long for the Fass to receive warm coolant. Hope this helps,my 2 cents.

I'm liking the idea of a FASS more and more. During the winter -40f or worse isn't uncommon, keeping fuel from gelling is a big deal. Maybe I'll even plumb the Espar into it to get it warm before startup.

I installed a RACOR #14278 fuel heater between the tank and the FASS. I removed all the factory lines, filter housing, lift pump, etc. I had a local hydraulic shop make some stainless/teflon hoses to replace the factory lines from the tank to the injection pump.

Soon I will be installing a Transferflow 54 gal. replacement tank and will do away with the factory sending unit housing.
