I think DEjeeper means "tone".

The earlier pumps were noisy at idle but the newer ones are better. Also, if you have one of those older pumps (like I do) they will send you a free kit to quiet it down substantially. The newer pump is noticeable but not objectionable like the old one was to me. And I like my truck quiet.

WTS is normal even when warm - I just ignore it and hit the starter anyway.

Noisy, a lot more so than than others and way more so unless it was installed correctly. If you did not replace the tank canister and\or upgrade the lines they will make a lot more noise. Think trying to suck a fire hose output thru a straw.

WTS on after the engine is warm is NOT normal. That is either an electrical glitch in the system or you have an injector return flow problem.

Many places are getting colder weather, if the intake manifold temp is less than 66° the WTS is normal.

My WTS light has always stayed on 5~7 seconds or so no matter how warm it is, even though the grids aren't cycling. Maybe it's one of those things that's changed throughout the model years... ? I thought I read once that the system is performing some kind of tests?

After installing the quiet kit on my FASS 95, I have to listen hard and turn off the stereo to hear it in the truck. It's still fairly evident outside the truck though.
Frankly with my minimum eng mods I would rather have the in-tank conversion with added filtering than the FASS.

03-05 will test the WTS light every time you turn the key on, 06-07's don't. I am not sure about 6. 7's.

fass is on their 3rd generation pickup tube bulkhead... when i first installed mine i was the one with the return line that went into the fuel fill neck. . that one was horrible. . then i updated to the newer aluminum bulkhead setup with pickup and return lines in one spot. now they have a newer setup that draws fuel through the stock sump... i debated updating again but, i dont want to drop tank 3 times... .

Interesting question, Doc. I'm seriously thinking of installing a Fass in the spring, as my stock one has gone 10 years with out a miss, but...

I have the fass platinum and it use one spin on and it is a Donaldson and I change it about every 15,000 to 20,000 mile depending on if I get the low fuel pressure light that I have (that is made by BD diesel) as it comes on at 5 psi or less. but I will change the factory motor mounted filter first as I have the Fass pump going in to the it before going to the CP3 pump, and if I still get the light to come on after change the factory filter I will then change the fass pump filter.

I go about 2 years or 15-20K miles on my filter, unless my pressure gauge shows differently.

Without a pressure gauge I would go once a year or 15K miles.
