I just wanted to share a positive experience I had with the folks that sell FASS fuel pumps. On the way home from my parents after the holidays, my truck started hiccupping and stuttering going down the road. Luckily, my sister was following me and I had my tow bars on board so she could pull my truck home. So the next day, (mind you it was bitterly cold that whole week) I started with the simple stuff like checking for codes and filters. My first thought was APPS and/or FCA, but after browsing the TDR forums (money well spent!) I didn't think that those were the problems. It struck me that when I turned the truck on after it had been sitting for awhile that I didn't hear that comforting whine of my FASS HPFP. After checking the fuse and finding it melted ( yes melted, not just blown) I replaced the fuse and turned the truck on, it ran for about 3 minutes before sputtering out and the fuse blowing again. OK, that narrows it down! I called the number on the paperwork from my fuel pump and spoke with Theresa who was happy to send me to the warranty department. Rick was very helpful in telling me how to troubleshoot the issue to make sure it was indeed the pump motor that was giving me fits as well as where to send the pump for warranty work. I followed his instructions for troubleshooting and came to the same conclusion; the motor was shot. I sent the pump off on a wednesday, and received it back the following wednesday complete with new motor and cleaned up housing. it took me about an hour last night to put everything back together and after a few bumps of the starter, the truck fired up and sounded as good as new! Thank you again to the fine folks at FASS for getting me back up and going.
Sorry for the novel length post, but I think it illustrates the value of doing business with a quality company and of the subscription to the TDR.
