The great gildersleeve
Mike Hammer (with darren mcgavin)
The life of riley
OK, we've been reminiscing about the past in several threads lately, so I thought I'd throw this topic out there. What were your favorite TV shows as a kid?
Here's my list growing up in the '70's and 80's
Emergency
The Fall Guy
The Dukes of Hazzard
MASH
Hardcastle and McCormick
CHIPS
Add (well, when we were allowed to turn the TV on or watch what the parental units watched):
Hogan's Heros
Three Stooges
The Rifleman
Star Trek
Knight Rider
Streets of San Francisco
Laverne and Shirley
Mod Squad
Mission Impossible
The FBI
Dragnet
Wiseguy
And we can't leave out Saturday morning cartoons: Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Mighty Mouse, Daffy Duck, Tom and Jerry, Pink Panther, and all the others from Loony Tunes, Merrie Melodies, Fritz Feleng, Hanna Barbera, etc.
A family friend was a children's librarian; she brought many boxes of library discards for us to read. I read pretty much all of them; more than once. Definitely spent more time reading than veg'ing.
Now, for *real* kiddie shows, who remembers 'Uncle Gus', and 'Romper Room'?
Can't forget the master of suspense...and quick wit:
ALFRED HITCHCOCK
You knew that was fake, right ?WRESTLING on Saturday afternoons!!!!
