Well, the nametags are a good idea... but here's a few clues as to finding me at the get-together:

1)I will have a beer in my hand at all times.

2)I will be talking smack about diesels at all times.

3)Seeing as there is gonna be some fried turkey (I've never had it... but anything fried is nice in my book... ) I'll have some of that in my hand.

4)Look for the youngest diesel owner... that'll probably be me too.

I'm all for the nametags... . good idea man!

Matt

be careful...

holeshot-- you may never want turkey any other way. that's what happened to us last thanksgiving. got our first cajun fried bird. 'nuff said...

Hey Matt - Aren't you the guy that likes to hang out near the exhaust tip to get as much diesel exhaust in you as possible??? :D

As far as the guy with a beer in his hands at all times... ..... won't that be MOST of us??

Hey Mass Diesel, What is the address of your shop? I kind of remember it in Franklin somewhere, but I've only been there once, and that time I was following MoparMuscle at Warp 5, so I didn't catch the names of the roads.

Jeff

Jeff wrong town. Massdiesel is in Norfolk.

Go back one page, Scott responded to ToolManTimTaylor and gave directions there. :)

Sorry guys, doesn't look like I'm gonna make it. Gotta work in the AM, and have to be in Maine in the PM, so the stop in the middle is gonna suffer.

Sorry, guys. Thought I could try to make it. Have a class tomorrow so I won't be there. Can't wait to hear a report though! :D

Sorry I took so long to respond.

Ok guy's and gay's, Lil Mama and I will be there:D

Just one thing. I don't want to come empty handed.

Therefore, if someone could send me a PM on what to bring I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Joe

Checkin' in

Well I am meandering thu the backroads and hills of Eastern Penn doing a little sightseeing on my way over towards CT. Just stopped here at the public library in Tamaqua to check in for any "updates. " It has been a nice drive up from Philadelphia and lots of great scenery. The downside is I'm driving a pathologically gutless Chevy Blazer rentalmobile that cannot get out of its own way   !!!! At only 6700 miles it feels far older and sloppier than my rig with 49,000 + miles.

I'm staying at Howard Johnson Inn in Vernon tonight, hope it's a decent motel. I'll see whoever shows up at Rein's Deli in the am, I'll do my best to drag myself out of bed in time since it will be like 5:30am to me

Request for a 1-9/16" bit

Guys,

The Espar heater install has changed, mainly because there is no longer an auxiliary port on the tank sending unit. You now get to drill a hole!

Well, finding a 1-9/16" holesaw or forstner bit has been a little harder to find than I thought. If anyone has such an animal, could they please bring it along? I think I can order one if no one has one, so no great shakes.

It would also be a great help to post that you will be bringing it, so I can know how much fuel I should have in my tank when I get there :^P

Thanks in Advance,

Matt

No luck on the bit. The largest bit I have is a 1 1/2 spade bit. How about a Greenlee Hole punch? I don't have one or know if they come in that size, but it's just a thought. How perfect does the hole have to be?

Jeff

quality of hole

Jeff,

It has to be a pretty good hole. The sending unit is made of plastic (nylon?). Once drilled, a rubber gasket is inserted and a brass fitting pushed into the rubber gasket. It all makes a friction fit.

Being a german product, the proper hole size is really 40mm, with 1-9/16" being the closest and slightly under.

I'd want a quality bit before I took a chance on my baby. How much does a replacement sending unit cost? It comes as a complete unit from DC.

What is a Greenlee Hole punch?

Thanks anyway Jeff,

Matt
