What a day!!!
Guy's ... where to begin?
I guess first thing: Sometime around 6:30 last night, all neighbors within a quarter mile radius heard me shout, "It's ... ALIVE!!!" The Espar runs!. . sounds like a little jet engine whirring up, but quiet. And I felt like an evil genius when it fired. Thanks everyone for the help and support! It took me most all of Sunday to run the wiring and hook up the heater hoses--guess I better stick to my day job.
It was really great to meet everyone. I now have a rat's nest of names and handles to sort out. And many, many people to thank.
HemiDart:
BigDaddy brought the bits and we were all set to drill that 1-5/8" hole, but MoparMuscle had a better idea. We ended up using a compression fitting and elbow attached to an innocuous little barb sticking up from the sending unit.
tntway:
I'm with you, we should have fired'em all up and listened to the chorus. It's a beautiful noise.
VeeTenJeff:
Yea, looks like we should change both our handles. As for making more rails, I'd be willing to talk about it. Would you want them finished or unfinished?
Kevin, Nicole, and the other party that drove up with us:
I'm so sorry your names and handle elude me, please forward me a private message and re-introduce yourselves. Anyway, what a great time running a convoy!! Can anyone provide independant confirmation that my prop really spins?
BigDaddy:
Thanks for all the help, the drill bits, the advice, the moral support. The firewall hole went right next to those 'reference' sheet metal screws towards the driver's side door. The screws hold an electrical junction block and there's good space for passing the harness through behind it.
ToolManTim:
Hey, maybe we could help massdiesel out with the list you made at our last meet at Hooter's in Milford. Could you use some help with that? Like would you like to snail mail it to me so that I can pump it into the computer?
Also, have you seen my 3/8 x 4" socket extension?
HEYBOSS & Batman:
You two are pure devil-spawn and MoparMuscle is your priest, loaning me an EZ to try, taking me down the road in Batman's rig! John's ride isn't any help either. And Scott goin, "Look at the bird!" This is really getting to me--don't know how long I can hold out... .
MoparMuscle:
A huge Thank-you for your hands on help, your good advice, and not least a ride to every parts store in a 50 mile radius. It's amazing what you can accomplish in an hour when you have 500 horses at your disposal, isn't it?
massdiesel:
What can I say guy? You put it all together. I can't remember when I had a better time. Thanks for the beer, the burgers, the chili, the turkey.
Thanks for the lift! Looking back on it, I don't know how I'd have dropped that tank by myself, or how many days it would have taken. We'll do some business sometime, and maybe I can get you a list of names and emails in the meantime.
Thank you everyone for a great time, all your help, and all your knowhow!!!!!!!!!!
See you soon,
Matt
