Finally got irritated enough with the headlights. A few hours out of my sunday, a bit of elbow grease and a $20 Sylvania kit off Amazon and the 16 yr old headlights are looking pretty damn good.

3M makes an 8mm clear UV resistant film that will help protect your headlights for longer now that you have restored them !!!

Better yet, when they eventually go cloudy, you simply peel them off and reapply a new piece of film, rather then all the sanding you need to do for a restiore on the oem lenses.

I'm really getting the feeling that you should provide a link to this new fangled film. I recently replaced my headlight assemblies with new ones from Geno's, and this idea of protecting them kind of appeals to me...

If the film is 8mm thick they should be able to stop a AK 47 round....
 
If you DO use this protective film, post back how it goes.... should be relatively easy with your 2006 headlights, versus my 2005.

There are also some youtube vids on how best to apply.
