finally bought some new tires for my truck bfgs 285/70/17 all teranes ... . they are smooth as glass... . my old ones were hard and worn... just make sure you have them do a lug centric balance... . works way better

i ran those on my gen 2 for several years. i siped them and installed centramatic wheel balancers. 80k later i sold the truck and they are still on there.

Just an FYI those tires are notorious for DW on dodges, very very soft sidewalls. Not saying every truck that runs them gets DW but if it starts happening they are a very probable cause. If you want a good D rated A/T Id look into the Yokohama Geolander AT/S, I know many people who have them and had them in 35's and 37's, no DW and awesome traction

dont know what DW is, but i have zero issues with them, I was running load range d, they did not have E back 4 yrs ago, now the side wall is really tuff and cant imagin having any problems... sounds like maybe you dont like BFG??? they are awsome and gave me good yrs of service in all conditions:D

Well DW is death wobble, I dont have an issue with BFG , the fact that I have seen them cause it many many times personally is why im saying it. I dont think Load range D is a problem, ive been running LR D tires for 6 years now, but there sidewalls are not really tuff. Im not trying to be a d*** but its a pretty well proven fact that BFG A/T's are notorius for DW issues, so Im trying to say if you start getting it at some point you may want to look at them if there are no other issues. Not every truck running that has or will get DW but I know of over 15 cases where they had it, switched tires and never had it again.

never had that problem, but my truck is stock, except for a 2 inch spacer in front... . bfg sidewalls cant be any worse than others, i guess... but i still love them and would not hesitate to recoment to anyone. .

Don't know if BFG's cause Death Wobble more than other brands. Could it be that there are a lot more BFG's on the road than other brands thereby increasing the chance of DW in that brand?

As to soft side walls- to my knowledge BFG's are the only brand that uses a 3 ply sidewall as compared to 2 plies used on the other brands. Does this make them more pliable? Don't know, but I would think not. There - my opinion - and it's worth what you paid for it.

I have a real hard time thinking that DW is caused by tires. I've seen loose suspension parts cause it (Trac Bar or Drag Link). Watching the above video closely, you see the tires rocking back/forth, but also up/ down. I believe up/down is caused by the back/forth motion making tire lift and drop in an arc due to caster angle.

It does seem hard to believe, totaly agree and it has nothing to do with the amount of them on the road. I have personally seen it multiple times before where a truck has DW, everything has been gone through and there is no obvious reason, got rid of the BFG A/T's and never had DW again, and they used another D rated tire so its not even a Load range thing. I havent heard of a problem with the Long Trails that come on the truck, heard the KM/2's are pretty squirmy under out trucks but dont really DW, its something to do with the All terrains and Ive seen it enough times an know enough people that have had the same experiences that I truly believe it has something to do with the tires.

MChrist, Im not saying DW is allways caused by tires, It can be caused by almost any individual front suspension component, but defiantly believe they can cause it. I know some guys who used to run BFG Projects, Load range C non DOT approved race tires on the street, even with the best front end components you could get without dual king/fox/bilstien stabilizers they would get DW instantly.

Just got back from a couple days and eight ctd trucks in Baja. Almost all of it was off the pavement. The only truck to get a flat was a BFG At with a sidewall failure.

If you can video tape it, it aint Death Wobble. Death Wobble involves hanging on tight, dropping multiple f-bombs, and looking for a way to get off the highway without killing someone. I have a set of BFG 315's on the truck right now with 45,000 miles. No more Death Wobble. It also has all new steering parts and more caster.

04blackcherry, what are your caster settings at? I just crawled out from under my truck, which has never had death wobble, and my pointers are pointing at the first hashmark forward of the 12 o'clock position.
